b9f68c0d86 UPSTREAM: net: introduce SO_BINDTOIFINDEX sockopt
This introduces a new generic SOL_SOCKET-level socket option called
SO_BINDTOIFINDEX. It behaves similar to SO_BINDTODEVICE, but takes a
network interface index as argument, rather than the network interface
name.

User-space often refers to network-interfaces via their index, but has
to temporarily resolve it to a name for a call into SO_BINDTODEVICE.
This might pose problems when the network-device is renamed
asynchronously by other parts of the system. When this happens, the
SO_BINDTODEVICE might either fail, or worse, it might bind to the wrong
device.

In most cases user-space only ever operates on devices which they
either manage themselves, or otherwise have a guarantee that the device
name will not change (e.g., devices that are UP cannot be renamed).
However, particularly in libraries this guarantee is non-obvious and it
would be nice if that race-condition would simply not exist. It would
make it easier for those libraries to operate even in situations where
the device-name might change under the hood.

A real use-case that we recently hit is trying to start the network
stack early in the initrd but make it survive into the real system.
Existing distributions rename network-interfaces during the transition
from initrd into the real system. This, obviously, cannot affect
devices that are up and running (unless you also consider moving them
between network-namespaces). However, the network manager now has to
make sure its management engine for dormant devices will not run in
parallel to these renames. Particularly, when you offload operations
like DHCP into separate processes, these might setup their sockets
early, and thus have to resolve the device-name possibly running into
this race-condition.

By avoiding a call to resolve the device-name, we no longer depend on
the name and can run network setup of dormant devices in parallel to
the transition off the initrd. The SO_BINDTOIFINDEX ioctl plugs this
race.

c5095805e9 BACKPORT: sysctl: pass kernel pointers to ->proc_handler
Instead of having all the sysctl handlers deal with user pointers, which
is rather hairy in terms of the BPF interaction, copy the input to and
from userspace in common code. This also means that the strings are
always NUL-terminated by the common code, making the API a little bit
safer.

As most handler just pass through the data to one of the common handlers
a lot of the changes are mechnical.

01b2ea9a29 BACKPORT: FROMGIT: hugetlb: pass vma into huge_pte_alloc() and huge_pmd_share()
Patch series "hugetlb: Disable huge pmd unshare for uffd-wp", v4.

This series tries to disable huge pmd unshare of hugetlbfs backed memory
for uffd-wp. Although uffd-wp of hugetlbfs is still during rfc stage, the
idea of this series may be needed for multiple tasks (Axel's uffd minor
fault series, and Mike's soft dirty series), so I picked it out from the
larger series.

This patch (of 4):

It is a preparation work to be able to behave differently in the per
architecture huge_pte_alloc() according to different VMA attributes.

Pass it deeper into huge_pmd_share() so that we can avoid the find_vma() call.

fb97cc89d2 BACKPORT: mm: introduce fault_signal_pending()
For most architectures, we've got a quick path to detect fatal signal
after a handle_mm_fault(). Introduce a helper for that quick path.

It cleans the current codes a bit so we don't need to duplicate the same
check across archs. More importantly, this will be an unified place that
we handle the signal immediately right after an interrupted page fault, so
it'll be much easier for us if we want to change the behavior of handling
signals later on for all the archs.

Note that currently only part of the archs are using this new helper,
because some archs have their own way to handle signals. In the follow up
patches, we'll try to apply this helper to all the rest of archs.

Another note is that the "regs" parameter in the new helper is not used
yet. It'll be used very soon. Now we kept it in this patch only to avoid
touching all the archs again in the follow up patches.

fba3c0f360 BACKPORT: arch/tlb: Clean up simple architectures
For the architectures that do not implement their own tlb_flush() but
do already use the generic mmu_gather, there are two options:

 1) the platform has an efficient flush_tlb_range() and
    asm-generic/tlb.h doesn't need any overrides at all.

 2) the platform lacks an efficient flush_tlb_range() and
    we select MMU_GATHER_NO_RANGE to minimize full invalidates.

Convert all 'simple' architectures to one of these two forms.

alpha: has no range invalidate -> 2
arc:	    already used flush_tlb_range() -> 1
c6x:	    has no range invalidate -> 2
hexagon:    has an efficient flush_tlb_range() -> 1
            (flush_tlb_mm() is in fact a full range invalidate,
	     so no need to shoot down everything)
m68k:	    has inefficient flush_tlb_range() -> 2
microblaze: has no flush_tlb_range() -> 2
mips:	    has efficient flush_tlb_range() -> 1
	    (even though it currently seems to use flush_tlb_mm())
nds32:	    already uses flush_tlb_range() -> 1
nios2:	    has inefficient flush_tlb_range() -> 2
	    (no limit on range iteration)
openrisc:   has inefficient flush_tlb_range() -> 2
	    (no limit on range iteration)
parisc:	    already uses flush_tlb_range() -> 1
sparc32:    already uses flush_tlb_range() -> 1
unicore32:  has inefficient flush_tlb_range() -> 2
	    (no limit on range iteration)
xtensa:	    has efficient flush_tlb_range() -> 1

Note this also fixes a bug in the existing code for a number
platforms. Those platforms that did:

  tlb_end_vma() -> if (!full_mm) flush_tlb_*()
  tlb_flush -> if (full_mm) flush_tlb_mm()

missed the case of shift_arg_pages(), which doesn't have @fullmm set,
nor calls into tlb_*vma(), but still frees page-tables and thus needs
an invalidate. The new code handles this by detecting a non-empty
range, and either issuing the matching range invalidate or a full
invalidate, depending on the capabilities.

No change in behavior intended.

6e806ec4f8 UPSTREAM: asm-generic/tlb, arch: Provide generic VIPT cache flush
The one obvious thing SH and ARM want is a sensible default for
tlb_start_vma(). (also: https://lkml.org/lkml/2004/1/15/6 )

Avoid all VIPT architectures providing their own tlb_start_vma()
implementation and rely on architectures to provide a no-op
flush_cache_range() when it is not relevant.

This patch makes tlb_start_vma() default to flush_cache_range(), which
should be right and sufficient. The only exceptions that I found where
(oddly):

  - m68k-mmu
  - sparc64
  - unicore

Those architectures appear to have flush_cache_range(), but their
current tlb_start_vma() does not call it.

No change in behavior intended.

3213ac4e85 MIPS: SMP-CPS: Fix address for GCR_ACCESS register for CM3 and later
[ Upstream commit a263e5f309f32301e1f3ad113293f4e68a82a646 ]

When the CM block migrated from CM2.5 to CM3.0, the address offset for
the Global CSR Access Privilege register was modified. We saw this in
the "MIPS64 I6500 Multiprocessing System Programmer's Guide," it is
stated that "the Global CSR Access Privilege register is located at
offset 0x0120" in section 5.4. It is at least the same for I6400.

This fix allows to use the VP cores in SMP mode if the reset values
were modified by the bootloader.

Based on the work of Vladimir Kondratiev
<vladimir.kondratiev@mobileye.com> and the feedback from Jiaxun Yang
<jiaxun.yang@flygoat.com>.

a8a223aa3f asm-generic: Move common compat types to asm-generic/compat.h
commit fb3739759474d150a9927b920a80ea2afb4c2a51 upstream.

While converting compat system call handlers to work on 32-bit
architectures, I found a number of types used in those handlers
that are identical between all architectures.

Let's move all the identical ones into asm-generic/compat.h to avoid
having to add even more identical definitions of those types.

For unknown reasons, mips defines __compat_gid32_t, __compat_uid32_t
and compat_caddr_t as signed, while all others have them unsigned.
This seems to be a mistake, but I'm leaving it alone here. The other
types all differ by size or alignment on at least on architecture.

compat_aio_context_t is currently defined in linux/compat.h but
also needed for compat_sys_io_getevents(), so let's move it into
the same place.

While we still have not decided whether the 32-bit time handling
will always use the compat syscalls, or in which form, I think this
is a useful cleanup that we can merge regardless.

acabc32a7b MIPS: Routerboard 532: Fix vendor retry check code
[ Upstream commit ae9daffd9028f2500c9ac1517e46d4f2b57efb80 ]

read_config_dword() contains strange condition checking ret for a
number of values. The ret variable, however, is always zero because
config_access() never returns anything else. Thus, the retry is always
taken until number of tries is exceeded.

The code looks like it wants to check *val instead of ret to see if the
read gave an error response.

6bff05aaa3 MIPS: Octeon: Add PCIe link status check
[ Upstream commit 29b83a64df3b42c88c0338696feb6fdcd7f1f3b7 ]

The standard PCIe configuration read-write interface is used to
access the configuration space of the peripheral PCIe devices
of the mips processor after the PCIe link surprise down, it can
generate kernel panic caused by "Data bus error". So it is
necessary to add PCIe link status check for system protection.
When the PCIe link is down or in training, assigning a value
of 0 to the configuration address can prevent read-write behavior
to the configuration space of peripheral PCIe devices, thereby
preventing kernel panic.

b0b3373993 MIPS: Clear Cause.BD in instruction_pointer_set
[ Upstream commit 9d6e21ddf20293b3880ae55b9d14de91c5891c59 ]

Clear Cause.BD after we use instruction_pointer_set to override
EPC.

This can prevent exception_epc check against instruction code at
new return address.
It won't be considered as "in delay slot" after epc being overridden
anyway.

54d186fb51 MIPS: Add 'memory' clobber to csum_ipv6_magic() inline assembler
[ Upstream commit d55347bfe4e66dce2e1e7501e5492f4af3e315f8 ]

After 'lib: checksum: Use aligned accesses for ip_fast_csum and
csum_ipv6_magic tests' was applied, the test_csum_ipv6_magic unit test
started failing for all mips platforms, both little and bit endian.
Oddly enough, adding debug code into test_csum_ipv6_magic() made the
problem disappear.

The gcc manual says:

"The "memory" clobber tells the compiler that the assembly code performs
 memory reads or writes to items other than those listed in the input
 and output operands (for example, accessing the memory pointed to by one
 of the input parameters)
"

This is definitely the case for csum_ipv6_magic(). Indeed, adding the
'memory' clobber fixes the problem.

4f5ce94295 mips: Call lose_fpu(0) before initializing fcr31 in mips_set_personality_nan
commit 59be5c35850171e307ca5d3d703ee9ff4096b948 upstream.

If we still own the FPU after initializing fcr31, when we are preempted
the dirty value in the FPU will be read out and stored into fcr31,
clobbering our setting. This can cause an improper floating-point
environment after execve().  For example:

    zsh% cat measure.c
    #include <fenv.h>
    int main() { return fetestexcept(FE_INEXACT); }
    zsh% cc measure.c -o measure -lm
    zsh% echo $((1.0/3)) # raising FE_INEXACT
    0.33333333333333331
    zsh% while ./measure; do ; done
    (stopped in seconds)

Call lose_fpu(0) before setting fcr31 to prevent this.

9cd4fadbd2 MIPS: Alchemy: only build mmc support helpers if au1xmmc is enabled
[ Upstream commit ef8f8f04a0b25e8f294b24350e8463a8d6a9ba0b ]

While commit d4a5c59a955b ("mmc: au1xmmc: force non-modular build and
remove symbol_get usage") to be built in, it can still build a kernel
without MMC support and thuse no mmc_detect_change symbol at all.

Add ifdefs to build the mmc support code in the alchemy arch code
conditional on mmc support.

0ef9a89463 mmc: au1xmmc: force non-modular build and remove symbol_get usage
commit d4a5c59a955bba96b273ec1a5885bada24c56979 upstream.

au1xmmc is split somewhat awkwardly into the main mmc subsystem driver,
and callbacks in platform_data that sit under arch/mips/ and are
always built in. The latter than call mmc_detect_change through
symbol_get. Remove the use of symbol_get by requiring the driver
to be built in. In the future the interrupt handlers for card
insert/eject detection should probably be moved into the main driver,
and which point it can be built modular again.

d043d0373f MIPS: cpu-features: Use boot_cpu_type for CPU type based features
[ Upstream commit 5487a7b60695a92cf998350e4beac17144c91fcd ]

Some CPU feature macros were using current_cpu_type to mark feature
availability.

However current_cpu_type will use smp_processor_id, which is prohibited
under preemptable context.

Since those features are all uniform on all CPUs in a SMP system, use
boot_cpu_type instead of current_cpu_type to fix preemptable kernel.

cee476bfad MIPS: cpu-features: Enable octeon_cache by cpu_type
[ Upstream commit f641519409a73403ee6612b8648b95a688ab85c2 ]

cpu_has_octeon_cache was tied to 0 for generic cpu-features,
whith this generic kernel built for octeon CPU won't boot.

Just enable this flag by cpu_type. It won't hurt orther platforms
because compiler will eliminate the code path on other processors.

bdf9179411 MIPS: dec: prom: Address -Warray-bounds warning
[ Upstream commit 7b191b9b55df2a844bd32d1d380f47a7df1c2896 ]

Zero-length arrays are deprecated, and we are replacing them with flexible
array members instead. So, replace zero-length array with flexible-array
member in struct memmap.

Address the following warning found after building (with GCC-13) mips64
with decstation_64_defconfig:
In function 'rex_setup_memory_region',
    inlined from 'prom_meminit' at arch/mips/dec/prom/memory.c:91:3:
arch/mips/dec/prom/memory.c:72:31: error: array subscript i is outside array bounds of 'unsigned char[0]' [-Werror=array-bounds=]

This helps with the ongoing efforts to globally enable -Warray-bounds.

This results in no differences in binary output.

3e77bbc873 Remove DECnet support from kernel
commit 1202cdd665315c525b5237e96e0bedc76d7e754f upstream.

DECnet is an obsolete network protocol that receives more attention
from kernel janitors than users. It belongs in computer protocol
history museum not in Linux kernel.

It has been "Orphaned" in kernel since 2010. The iproute2 support
for DECnet was dropped in 5.0 release. The documentation link on
Sourceforge says it is abandoned there as well.

Leave the UAPI alone to keep userspace programs compiling.
This means that there is still an empty neighbour table
for AF_DECNET.

The table of /proc/sys/net entries was updated to match
current directories and reformatted to be alphabetical.

793092e800 mips: Move initrd_start check after initrd address sanitisation.
[ Upstream commit 4897a898a216058dec55e5e5902534e6e224fcdf ]

PAGE_OFFSET is technically a virtual address so when checking the value of
initrd_start against it we should make sure that it has been sanitised from
the values passed by the bootloader. Without this change, even with a bootloader
that passes correct addresses for an initrd, we are failing to load it on MT7621
boards, for example.

830181ddce MIPS: fw: Allow firmware to pass a empty env
commit ee1809ed7bc456a72dc8410b475b73021a3a68d5 upstream.

fw_getenv will use env entry to determine style of env,
however it is legal for firmware to just pass a empty list.

Check if first entry exist before running strchr to avoid
null pointer dereference.

[ Upstream commit 109d587a4b4d7ccca2200ab1f808f43ae23e2585 ]

d1aef0928c mips: fix syscall_get_nr
commit 85cc91e2ba4262a602ec65e2b76c4391a9e60d3d upstream.

The implementation of syscall_get_nr on mips used to ignore the task
argument and return the syscall number of the calling thread instead of
the target thread.

The bug was exposed to user space by commit 201766a20e30f ("ptrace: add
PTRACE_GET_SYSCALL_INFO request") and detected by strace test suite.

b45c0120af MIPS: vpe-mt: drop physical_memsize
[ Upstream commit 91dc288f4edf0d768e46c2c6d33e0ab703403459 ]

When neither LANTIQ nor MIPS_MALTA is set, 'physical_memsize' is not
declared. This causes the build to fail with:

mips-linux-ld: arch/mips/kernel/vpe-mt.o: in function `vpe_run':
arch/mips/kernel/vpe-mt.c:(.text.vpe_run+0x280): undefined reference to `physical_memsize'

LANTIQ is not using 'physical_memsize' and MIPS_MALTA's use of it is
self-contained in mti-malta/malta-dtshim.c.
Use of physical_memsize in vpe-mt.c appears to be unused, so eliminate
this loader mode completely and require VPE programs to be compiled with
DFLT_STACK_SIZE and DFLT_HEAP_SIZE defined.

109826ccd1 UPSTREAM: crypto: mips/poly1305 - enable for all MIPS processors
The MIPS Poly1305 implementation is generic MIPS code written such as to
support down to the original MIPS I and MIPS III ISA for the 32-bit and
64-bit variant respectively. Lift the current limitation then to enable
code for MIPSr1 ISA or newer processors only and have it available for
all MIPS processors.
