b9f68c0d86 UPSTREAM: net: introduce SO_BINDTOIFINDEX sockopt
This introduces a new generic SOL_SOCKET-level socket option called
SO_BINDTOIFINDEX. It behaves similar to SO_BINDTODEVICE, but takes a
network interface index as argument, rather than the network interface
name.

User-space often refers to network-interfaces via their index, but has
to temporarily resolve it to a name for a call into SO_BINDTODEVICE.
This might pose problems when the network-device is renamed
asynchronously by other parts of the system. When this happens, the
SO_BINDTODEVICE might either fail, or worse, it might bind to the wrong
device.

In most cases user-space only ever operates on devices which they
either manage themselves, or otherwise have a guarantee that the device
name will not change (e.g., devices that are UP cannot be renamed).
However, particularly in libraries this guarantee is non-obvious and it
would be nice if that race-condition would simply not exist. It would
make it easier for those libraries to operate even in situations where
the device-name might change under the hood.

A real use-case that we recently hit is trying to start the network
stack early in the initrd but make it survive into the real system.
Existing distributions rename network-interfaces during the transition
from initrd into the real system. This, obviously, cannot affect
devices that are up and running (unless you also consider moving them
between network-namespaces). However, the network manager now has to
make sure its management engine for dormant devices will not run in
parallel to these renames. Particularly, when you offload operations
like DHCP into separate processes, these might setup their sockets
early, and thus have to resolve the device-name possibly running into
this race-condition.

By avoiding a call to resolve the device-name, we no longer depend on
the name and can run network setup of dormant devices in parallel to
the transition off the initrd. The SO_BINDTOIFINDEX ioctl plugs this
race.

fba3c0f360 BACKPORT: arch/tlb: Clean up simple architectures
For the architectures that do not implement their own tlb_flush() but
do already use the generic mmu_gather, there are two options:

 1) the platform has an efficient flush_tlb_range() and
    asm-generic/tlb.h doesn't need any overrides at all.

 2) the platform lacks an efficient flush_tlb_range() and
    we select MMU_GATHER_NO_RANGE to minimize full invalidates.

Convert all 'simple' architectures to one of these two forms.

alpha:	    has no range invalidate -> 2
arc:	    already used flush_tlb_range() -> 1
c6x:	    has no range invalidate -> 2
hexagon:    has an efficient flush_tlb_range() -> 1
            (flush_tlb_mm() is in fact a full range invalidate,
	     so no need to shoot down everything)
m68k:	    has inefficient flush_tlb_range() -> 2
microblaze: has no flush_tlb_range() -> 2
mips:	    has efficient flush_tlb_range() -> 1
	    (even though it currently seems to use flush_tlb_mm())
nds32:	    already uses flush_tlb_range() -> 1
nios2:	    has inefficient flush_tlb_range() -> 2
	    (no limit on range iteration)
openrisc:   has inefficient flush_tlb_range() -> 2
	    (no limit on range iteration)
parisc:	    already uses flush_tlb_range() -> 1
sparc32:    already uses flush_tlb_range() -> 1
unicore32:  has inefficient flush_tlb_range() -> 2
	    (no limit on range iteration)
xtensa:	    has efficient flush_tlb_range() -> 1

Note this also fixes a bug in the existing code for a number
platforms. Those platforms that did:

  tlb_end_vma() -> if (!full_mm) flush_tlb_*()
  tlb_flush -> if (full_mm) flush_tlb_mm()

missed the case of shift_arg_pages(), which doesn't have @fullmm set,
nor calls into tlb_*vma(), but still frees page-tables and thus needs
an invalidate. The new code handles this by detecting a non-empty
range, and either issuing the matching range invalidate or a full
invalidate, depending on the capabilities.

No change in behavior intended.

6e806ec4f8 UPSTREAM: asm-generic/tlb, arch: Provide generic VIPT cache flush
The one obvious thing SH and ARM want is a sensible default for
tlb_start_vma(). (also: https://lkml.org/lkml/2004/1/15/6 )

Avoid all VIPT architectures providing their own tlb_start_vma()
implementation and rely on architectures to provide a no-op
flush_cache_range() when it is not relevant.

This patch makes tlb_start_vma() default to flush_cache_range(), which
should be right and sufficient. The only exceptions that I found where
(oddly):

  - m68k-mmu
  - sparc64
  - unicore

Those architectures appear to have flush_cache_range(), but their
current tlb_start_vma() does not call it.

No change in behavior intended.

a8a223aa3f asm-generic: Move common compat types to asm-generic/compat.h
commit fb3739759474d150a9927b920a80ea2afb4c2a51 upstream.

While converting compat system call handlers to work on 32-bit
architectures, I found a number of types used in those handlers
that are identical between all architectures.

Let's move all the identical ones into asm-generic/compat.h to avoid
having to add even more identical definitions of those types.

For unknown reasons, mips defines __compat_gid32_t, __compat_uid32_t
and compat_caddr_t as signed, while all others have them unsigned.
This seems to be a mistake, but I'm leaving it alone here. The other
types all differ by size or alignment on at least on architecture.

compat_aio_context_t is currently defined in linux/compat.h but
also needed for compat_sys_io_getevents(), so let's move it into
the same place.

While we still have not decided whether the 32-bit time handling
will always use the compat syscalls, or in which form, I think this
is a useful cleanup that we can merge regardless.

7d27b71af7 parisc: Strip upper 32 bit of sum in csum_ipv6_magic for 64-bit builds

IPv6 checksum tests with unaligned addresses on 64-bit builds result
in unexpected failures.

Expected expected == csum_result, but
    expected == 46591 (0xb5ff)
    csum_result == 46381 (0xb52d)
with alignment offset 1

Oddly enough, the problem disappeared after adding test code into
the beginning of csum_ipv6_magic().

As it turns out, the 'sum' parameter of csum_ipv6_magic() is declared as
__wsum, which is a 32-bit variable. However, it is treated as 64-bit
variable in the 64-bit assembler code. Tests showed that the upper 32 bit
of the register used to pass the variable are _not_ cleared when entering
the function. This can result in checksum calculation errors.

Clearing the upper 32 bit of 'sum' as first operation in the assembler
code fixes the problem.

ee185ae2b9 parisc: Fix csum_ipv6_magic on 64-bit systems

hppa 64-bit systems calculates the IPv6 checksum using 64-bit add
operations. The last add folds protocol and length fields into the 64-bit
result. While unlikely, this operation can overflow. The overflow can be
triggered with a code sequence such as the following.

	/* try to trigger massive overflows */
	memset(tmp_buf, 0xff, sizeof(struct in6_addr));
	csum_result = csum_ipv6_magic((struct in6_addr *)tmp_buf,
				      (struct in6_addr *)tmp_buf,
				      0xffff, 0xff, 0xffffffff);

Fix the problem by adding any overflows from the final add operation into
the calculated checksum. Fortunately, we can do this without additional
cost by replacing the add operation used to fold the checksum into 32 bit
with "add,dc" to add in the missing carry.

Calculating the IPv6 checksum on 32-bit systems missed overflows when
adding the proto+len fields into the checksum. This results in the
following unit test failure.

This is probably rarely seen in the real world because proto+len are
usually small values which will rarely result in overflows when calculating
the checksum. However, the unit test code uses large values for the length
field, causing the test to fail.

Fix the problem by adding the missing carry into the final checksum.

IP checksum unit tests report the following error when run on hppa/hppa64.

    Expected ( u64)csum_result == ( u64)expected, but
        ( u64)csum_result == 33754 (0x83da)
        ( u64)expected == 10946 (0x2ac2)
    not ok 4 test_ip_fast_csum

0x83da is the expected result if the IP header length is 20 bytes. 0x2ac2
is the expected result if the IP header length is 24 bytes. The test fails
with an IP header length of 24 bytes. It appears that ip_fast_csum()
always returns the checksum for a 20-byte header, no matter how long
the header actually is.

Code analysis shows a suspicious assembler sequence in ip_fast_csum().

 "1:    ldws,ma         4(%1), %3\n"
 "      addib,<         0, %2, 1b\n"	<---

While my understanding of HPPA assembler is limited, it does not seem
to make much sense to subtract 0 from a register and to expect the result
to ever be negative. Subtracting 1 from the length parameter makes more
sense. On top of that, the operation should be repeated if and only if
the result is still > 0, so change the suspicious instruction to
 "      addib,>         -1, %2, 1b\n"

The IP checksum unit test passes after this change.

a7796ccd3b parisc: Restore __ldcw_align for PA-RISC 2.0 processors
commit 914988e099fc658436fbd7b8f240160c352b6552 upstream.

Back in 2005, Kyle McMartin removed the 16-byte alignment for
ldcw semaphores on PA 2.0 machines (CONFIG_PA20). This broke
spinlocks on pre PA8800 processors. The main symptom was random
faults in mmap'd memory (e.g., gcc compilations, etc).

Unfortunately, the errata for this ldcw change is lost.

The issue is the 16-byte alignment required for ldcw semaphore
instructions can only be reduced to natural alignment when the
ldcw operation can be handled coherently in cache. Only PA8800
and PA8900 processors actually support doing the operation in
cache.

Aligning the spinlock dynamically adds two integer instructions
to each spinlock.

Tested on rp3440, c8000 and a500.

d72b0309c7 parisc: Fix flush_dcache_page() for usage from irq context
commit 61e150fb310729c98227a5edf6e4a3619edc3702 upstream.

Since at least kernel 6.1, flush_dcache_page() is called with IRQs
disabled, e.g. from aio_complete().

But the current implementation for flush_dcache_page() on parisc
unintentionally re-enables IRQs, which may lead to deadlocks.

Fix it by using xa_lock_irqsave() and xa_unlock_irqrestore()
for the flush_dcache_mmap_*lock() macros instead.

96a6a318c6 parisc: Align parisc MADV_XXX constants with all other architectures
commit 71bdea6f798b425bc0003780b13e3fdecb16a010 upstream.

Adjust some MADV_XXX constants to be in sync what their values are on
all other platforms. There is currently no reason to have an own
numbering on parisc, but it requires workarounds in many userspace
sources (e.g. glibc, qemu, ...) - which are often forgotten and thus
introduce bugs and different behaviour on parisc.

A wrapper avoids an ABI breakage for existing userspace applications by
translating any old values to the new ones, so this change allows us to
move over all programs to the new ABI over time.

cd80734faa parisc: Avoid printing the hardware path twice
commit 2b6ae0962b421103feb41a80406732944b0665b3 upstream.

Avoid that the hardware path is shown twice in the kernel log, and clean
up the output of the version numbers to show up in the same order as
they are listed in the hardware database in the hardware.c file.
Additionally, optimize the memory footprint of the hardware database
and mark some code as init code.

d3b2c42dfb parisc: define get_cycles macro for arch-override
commit 8865bbe6ba1120e67f72201b7003a16202cd42be upstream.

PA-RISC defines a get_cycles() function, but it does not do the usual
`#define get_cycles get_cycles` dance, making it impossible for generic
code to see if an arch-specific function was defined. While the
get_cycles() ifdef is not currently used, the following timekeeping
patch in this series will depend on the macro existing (or not existing)
when defining random_get_entropy().

08ed36b34f parisc: avoid a warning on u8 cast for cmpxchg on u8 pointers

commit b344d6a83d01 ("parisc: add support for cmpxchg on u8 pointers")
can generate a sparse warning ("cast truncates bits from constant
value"), which has been reported several times [1] [2] [3].

The original code worked as expected, but anyway, let silence such
sparse warning as what others did [4].

36960edcc3 UPSTREAM: parisc: Switch from DISCONTIGMEM to SPARSEMEM
The commit 1c30844d2dfe ("mm: reclaim small amounts of memory when an
external fragmentation event occurs") breaks memory management on a
parisc c8000 workstation with this memory layout:

	0) Start 0x0000000000000000 End 0x000000003fffffff Size   1024 MB
	1) Start 0x0000000100000000 End 0x00000001bfdfffff Size   3070 MB
	2) Start 0x0000004040000000 End 0x00000040ffffffff Size   3072 MB

With the patch 1c30844d2dfe, the kernel will incorrectly reclaim the
first zone when it fills up, ignoring the fact that there are two
completely free zones. Basiscally, it limits cache size to 1GiB.

The parisc kernel is currently using the DISCONTIGMEM implementation,
but isn't NUMA. Avoid this issue or strange work-arounds by switching to
the more commonly used SPARSEMEM implementation.

After consideration, I realized that we must be losing bit unlocks.
Then, I noticed that we missed defining atomic64_set_release().
Adding this define fixes the stalls in bit operations.

5db86e2a9b parisc: also set iaoq_b in instruction_pointer_set()

When setting the instruction pointer on PA-RISC we also need
to set the back of the instruction queue to the new offset, otherwise
we will execute on instruction from the new location, and jumping

8801ccb9fa parisc: Fix boot failure of 64-bit kernel
Commit c8921d72e3 ("parisc: Fix and improve kernel stack unwinding")
broke booting of 64-bit kernels. On 64-bit kernels function pointers are
actually function descriptors which require dereferencing. In this patch
we instead declare functions in assembly code which are referenced from
C-code as external data pointers with the ENTRY() macro and thus can use
a simple external reference to the functions.

c8921d72e3 parisc: Fix and improve kernel stack unwinding
This patchset fixes and improves stack unwinding a lot:
1. Show backward stack traces with up to 30 callsites
2. Add callinfo to ENTRY_CFI() such that every assembler function will get an
   entry in the unwind table
3. Use constants instead of numbers in call_on_stack()
4. Do not depend on CONFIG_KALLSYMS to generate backtraces.
5. Speed up backtrace generation

Without this patch, unwind info in the kernel is often wrong for various
functions.
