UPSTREAM: binder: add flag to clear buffer on txn complete
Add a per-transaction flag to indicate that the buffer must be cleared when the transaction is complete to prevent copies of sensitive data from being preserved in memory. [ Upstream commit d5767057c9a76a29f073dad66b7fa12a90e8c748 ] ext2_swab() is defined locally in lib/find_bit.c However it is not specific to ext2, neither to bitmaps. There are many potential users of it, so rename it to just swab() and move to include/uapi/linux/swab.h ABI guarantees that size of unsigned long corresponds to BITS_PER_LONG, therefore drop unneeded cast. serial: 8250: Define RX trigger levels for OxSemi 950 devices

Oxford Semiconductor 950 serial port devices have a 128-byte FIFO and in
the enhanced (650) mode, which we select in `autoconfig_has_efr' with
the ECB bit set in the EFR register, they support the receive interrupt
trigger level selectable with FCR bits 7:6 from the set of 16, 32, 112,
120. This applies to the original OX16C950 discrete UART[1] as well as
950 cores embedded into more complex devices.
For these devices we set the default to 112, which sets an excessively
high level of 112 or 7/8 of the FIFO capacity, unlike with other port
types where we choose at most 1/2 of their respective FIFO capacities.
Additionally we don't make the trigger level configurable. Consequently
frequent input overruns happen with high bit rates where hardware flow
control cannot be used (e.g. terminal applications) even with otherwise
highly-performant systems.
Lower the default receive interrupt trigger level to 32 then, and make
it configurable. Document the trigger levels along with other port
types, including the set of 16, 32, 64, 112 for the transmit interrupt
as well[2].

tty: actually undefine superseded ASYNC flags

Some kernel-internal ASYNC flags have been superseded by tty-port flags
and should no longer be used by kernel drivers.
Fix the misspelled "__KERNEL__" compile guards which failed their sole
purpose to break out-of-tree drivers that have not yet been updated.

uapi: move constants from <linux/kernel.h> to <linux/const.h>

The reason is to avoid indirect <linux/sysinfo.h> include when using

block: Move SECTOR_SIZE and SECTOR_SHIFT definitions into <linux/blkdev.h>

It happens often while I'm preparing a patch for a block driver that I'm wondering: is a definition of SECTOR_SIZE and/or SECTOR_SHIFT available for this driver? Do I have to introduce definitions of these constants before I can use these constants? To avoid this confusion, move the existing definitions of SECTOR_SIZE and SECTOR_SHIFT into the <linux/blkdev.h> header file such that these become available for all block drivers. Make the SECTOR_SIZE definition in the uapi msdos_fs.h header file conditional to avoid that including that header file after <linux/blkdev.h> causes the compiler to complain about a SECTOR_SIZE redefinition. Note: the SECTOR_SIZE / SECTOR_SHIFT / SECTOR_BITS definitions have not been removed from uapi header files nor from NAND drivers in which these constants are used for another purpose than converting block layer offsets and sizes into a number of sectors. install several missing uapi headers
Commit fcc8487d477a3452a1d0ccbdd4c5e0e1e3cb8bed ("uapi: export all headers
under uapi directories") changed the default to install all headers not marked
to be conditional. This takes the list of headers listed in the commit message
and manually adds an export for those that are already present in this kernel
version.
Found during an attempt to build mtd-utils 2.1.2 as it wants hash_info.h, which
exists since 3.13 but has not been installed until the above mentioned commit,
which ended up in 4.12.

BACKPORT: loop: Add LOOP_CONFIGURE ioctl
This allows userspace to completely setup a loop device with a single
ioctl, removing the in-between state where the device can be partially
configured - eg the loop device has a backing file associated with it,
but is reading from the wrong offset.
Besides removing the intermediate state, another big benefit of this
ioctl is that LOOP_SET_STATUS can be slow; the main reason for this
slowness is that LOOP_SET_STATUS(64) calls blk_mq_freeze_queue() to
freeze the associated queue; this requires waiting for RCU
synchronization, which I've measured can take about 15-20ms on this
device on average.
In addition to doing what LOOP_SET_STATUS can do, LOOP_CONFIGURE can
also be used to:
- Set the correct block size immediately by setting
loop_config.block_size (avoids LOOP_SET_BLOCK_SIZE)
- Explicitly request direct I/O mode by setting LO_FLAGS_DIRECT_IO
in loop_config.info.lo_flags (avoids LOOP_SET_DIRECT_IO)
- Explicitly request read-only mode by setting LO_FLAGS_READ_ONLY
in loop_config.info.lo_flags
Here's setting up ~70 regular loop devices with an offset on an x86
Android device, using LOOP_SET_FD and LOOP_SET_STATUS:

BACKPORT: loop: Clean up LOOP_SET_STATUS lo_flags handling
LOOP_SET_STATUS(64) will actually allow some lo_flags to be modified; in particular, LO_FLAGS_AUTOCLEAR can be set and cleared, whereas LO_FLAGS_PARTSCAN can be set to request a partition scan. Make this explicit by updating the UAPI to include the flags that can be set/cleared using this ioctl. The implementation can then blindly take over the passed in flags, and use the previous flags for those flags that can't be set / cleared using LOOP_SET_STATUS. media: dvb_frontend: fix return values for FE_SET_PROPERTY
commit 259a41d9ae8f3689742267f340ad2b159d00b302 upstream There are several problems with regards to the return of FE_SET_PROPERTY. The original idea were to return per-property return codes via tvp->result field, and to return an updated set of values. However, that never worked. What's actually implemented is: - the FE_SET_PROPERTY implementation doesn't call .get_frontend callback in order to get the actual parameters after return; - the tvp->result field is only filled if there's no error. So, it is always filled with zero; - FE_SET_PROPERTY doesn't call memdup_user() nor any other copy_to_user() function. So, any changes to the properties will be lost; - FE_SET_PROPERTY is declared as a write-only ioctl (IOW). While we could fix the above, it could cause regressions. So, let's just assume what the code really does, updating the documentation accordingly and removing the logic that would update the discarded tvp->result. media: dvb/frontend.h: document the uAPI file
commit 8220ead805b6bab4ade2839857a198e9708b07de upstream Most of the stuff at the Digital TV frontend header file are documented only at the Documentation. However, a few kernel-doc markups are there, several of them with parsing issues. Add the missing documentation, copying definitions from the Documentation when it applies, fixing some bugs. Please notice that DVBv3 stuff that were deprecated weren't commented by purpose. Instead, they were clearly tagged as such. This patch prepares to move part of the documentation from Documentation/ to kernel-doc comments.
