PM: hibernate: Fix mistake in kerneldoc comment

The actual maximum image size formula in hibernate_preallocate_memory()
is as follows:
max_size = (count - (size + PAGES_FOR_IO)) / 2
- 2 * DIV_ROUND_UP(reserved_size, PAGE_SIZE);
but the one in the kerneldoc comment of the function is different and
incorrect.

PM: hibernate: fix __setup handler error handling

silently ignored. Add a warning message and then let the __setup

PM: wakeup: simplify the output logic of pm_show_wakelocks()
commit c9d967b2ce40d71e968eb839f36c936b8a9cf1ea upstream. The buffer handling in pm_show_wakelocks() is tricky, and hopefully correct. Ensure it really is correct by using sysfs_emit_at() which handles all of the tricky string handling logic in a PAGE_SIZE buffer for us automatically as this is a sysfs file being read from. PM: hibernate: use correct mode for swsusp_close()

Commit 39fbef4b0f77 ("PM: hibernate: Get block device exclusively in
swsusp_check()") changed the opening mode of the block device to
(FMODE_READ | FMODE_EXCL).
In the corresponding calls to swsusp_close(), the mode is still just
FMODE_READ which triggers the warning in blkdev_flush_mapping() on
resume from hibernate.
So, use the mode (FMODE_READ | FMODE_EXCL) also when closing the
device.

PM: hibernate: Freeze kernel threads in software_resume()
commit 2351f8d295ed63393190e39c2f7c1fee1a80578f upstream. Currently the kernel threads are not frozen in software_resume(), so between dpm_suspend_start(PMSG_QUIESCE) and resume_target_kernel(), system_freezable_power_efficient_wq can still try to submit SCSI commands and this can cause a panic since the low level SCSI driver (e.g. hv_storvsc) has quiesced the SCSI adapter and can not accept any SCSI commands: https://lkml.org/lkml/2020/4/10/47 At first I posted a fix (https://lkml.org/lkml/2020/4/21/1318) trying to resolve the issue from hv_storvsc, but with the help of Bart Van Assche, I realized it's better to fix software_resume(), since this looks like a generic issue, not only pertaining to SCSI. PM / hibernate: memory_bm_find_bit(): Tighten node optimisation
[ Upstream commit da6043fe85eb5ec621e34a92540735dcebbea134 ] When looking for a bit by number we make use of the cached result from the preceding lookup to speed up operation. Firstly we check if the requested pfn is within the cached zone and if not lookup the new zone. We then check if the offset for that pfn falls within the existing cached node. This happens regardless of whether the node is within the zone we are now scanning. With certain memory layouts it is possible for this to false trigger creating a temporary alias for the pfn to a different bit. This leads the hibernation code to free memory which it was never allocated with the expected fallout. Ensure the zone we are scanning matches the cached zone before considering the cached node. power: qos: Fix accessing pm_qos_request struct
Constraints added using dev_pm_qos_add_request are not member of pm_qos_request struct. Only those constraints that are added using pm_qos_add_request are member of pm_qos_request struct and can be accessed as CPU DMA latency constraints while updating the cpumask for which latency has been updated. x86/power: Fix 'nosmt' vs hibernation triple fault during resume
commit ec527c318036a65a083ef68d8ba95789d2212246 upstream.
As explained in
0cc3cd21657b ("cpu/hotplug: Boot HT siblings at least once")
we always, no matter what, have to bring up x86 HT siblings during boot at
least once in order to avoid first MCE bringing the system to its knees.
That means that whenever 'nosmt' is supplied on the kernel command-line,
all the HT siblings are as a result sitting in mwait or cpudile after
going through the online-offline cycle at least once.
This causes a serious issue though when a kernel, which saw 'nosmt' on its
commandline, is going to perform resume from hibernation: if the resume
from the hibernated image is successful, cr3 is flipped in order to point
to the address space of the kernel that is being resumed, which in turn
means that all the HT siblings are all of a sudden mwaiting on address
which is no longer valid.
That results in triple fault shortly after cr3 is switched, and machine
reboots.
Fix this by always waking up all the SMT siblings before initiating the
'restore from hibernation' process; this guarantees that all the HT
siblings will be properly carried over to the resumed kernel waiting in
resume_play_dead(), and acted upon accordingly afterwards, based on the
target kernel configuration.
Symmetricaly, the resumed kernel has to push the SMT siblings to mwait
again in case it has SMT disabled; this means it has to online all
the siblings when resuming (so that they come out of hlt) and offline
them again to let them reach mwait.

PM / hibernate: Fix oops at snapshot_write()
commit fc14eebfc20854a38fd9f1d93a42b1783dad4d17 upstream. syzbot is reporting NULL pointer dereference at snapshot_write() [1]. This is because data->handle is zero-cleared by ioctl(SNAPSHOT_FREE). Fix this by checking data_of(data->handle) != NULL before using it. kernel: power: qos: remove check for core isolation while cluster LPMs
Since all cores in a cluster are in isolation, PMQoS latency constraint set by clock driver to switch PLL is ignored. So, Cluster enter to L2PC and SPM is trying to disable the PLL and at same time clock driver trying to switch the PLL from other cluster which leads to the synchronization issues. x86/power: Fix swsusp_arch_resume prototype

The declaration for swsusp_arch_resume marks it as 'asmlinkage', but the
definition in x86-32 does not, and it fails to include the header with the
declaration. This leads to a warning when building with

PM / hibernate: Add CONFIG_HIBERNATION_IMAGE_REUSE
By default this hibernation image is erased after either a successful or unsuccessful hibernation restore sequeunce. Since filesystem contents on disk are not part of the hibernation image, failure to create a new hibernation image every boot can lead to filesystem corruption. Conversely, if the usecase can guarantee that the filesystem is not ever modified, the same hibernation image can be reused. This prevents creating additional hibernation images unncesarily. For more details, refer to the description of CONFIG_HIBERNATION for booting without resuming. qos: Register irq notify after adding the qos request
Before adding the irq affinity based qos request to the list, if the affinity of the interrupt changes it will trigger notify call. This notifier call will try to update the qos request. Accessing the qos request which is not yet added to the list leads to a NULL pointer exception. Avoid this race by registering the notifier after adding the qos request. qos: Pass the list of cpus with affected qos to notifer
Send the list of cpus whose qos has been affected along with the changed value. Driver listening in for notifier can use this to apply the qos value for the respective cpus. Wakeup cpus even if the aggregated qos value does not change but the cpumask changes. sched/cpuset/pm: Fix cpuset vs. suspend-resume bugs

Cpusets vs. suspend-resume is _completely_ broken. And it got noticed
because it now resulted in non-cpuset usage breaking too.
On suspend cpuset_cpu_inactive() doesn't call into
cpuset_update_active_cpus() because it doesn't want to move tasks about,
there is no need, all tasks are frozen and won't run again until after
we've resumed everything.
But this means that when we finally do call into
cpuset_update_active_cpus() after resuming the last frozen cpu in
cpuset_cpu_active(), the top_cpuset will not have any difference with
the cpu_active_mask and this it will not in fact do _anything_.
So the cpuset configuration will not be restored. This was largely
hidden because we would unconditionally create identity domains and
mobile users would not in fact use cpusets much. And servers what do use
cpusets tend to not suspend-resume much.
An addition problem is that we'd not in fact wait for the cpuset work to
finish before resuming the tasks, allowing spurious migrations outside
of the specified domains.
Fix the rebuild by introducing cpuset_force_rebuild() and fix the
ordering with cpuset_wait_for_hotplug().

If a memory bandwidth constraint is added, pm_qos_set_value_for_cpu() throws an BUG as PM_QOS_SUM type is not handled. Add the new value to the target_per_cpu variable to provide an overall memory bandwidth requirement for each cpu. qos: Disable irq notifier when qos request is removed
When a qos request is added with IRQ affinity, irq notifier for that irq is added and with out disabling the irq notifier if the irq is free it is through a warning.
