bf0c25cb3d lib/notifier-error-inject: fix error when writing -errno to debugfs file
[ Upstream commit f883c3edd2c432a2931ec8773c70a570115a50fe ]

The simple attribute files do not accept a negative value since the commit
488dac0c9237 ("libfs: fix error cast of negative value in
simple_attr_write()").

This restores the previous behaviour by using newly introduced
DEFINE_SIMPLE_ATTRIBUTE_SIGNED instead of DEFINE_SIMPLE_ATTRIBUTE.

a1bea404ee dyndbg: let query-modname override actual module name
[ Upstream commit e75ef56f74965f426dd819a41336b640ffdd8fbc ]

dyndbg's control-parser: ddebug_parse_query(), requires that search
terms: module, func, file, lineno, are used only once in a query; a
thing cannot be named both foo and bar.

The cited commit added an overriding module modname, taken from the
module loader, which is authoritative. So it set query.module 1st,
which disallowed its use in the query-string.

But now, its useful to allow a module-load to enable classes across a
whole (or part of) a subsystem at once.

  # enable (dynamic-debug in) drm only
  modprobe drm dyndbg="class DRM_UT_CORE +p"

  # get drm_helper too
  modprobe drm dyndbg="class DRM_UT_CORE module drm* +p"

  # get everything that knows DRM_UT_CORE
  modprobe drm dyndbg="class DRM_UT_CORE module * +p"

  # also for boot-args:
  drm.dyndbg="class DRM_UT_CORE module * +p"

So convert the override into a default, by filling it only when/after
the query-string omitted the module.

NB: the query class FOO handling is forthcoming.

04b8998dff lib/string.c: implement stpcpy
commit 1e1b6d63d6340764e00356873e5794225a2a03ea upstream.

LLVM implemented a recent "libcall optimization" that lowers calls to
`sprintf(dest, "%s", str)` where the return value is used to
`stpcpy(dest, str) - dest`.

This generally avoids the machinery involved in parsing format strings.
`stpcpy` is just like `strcpy` except it returns the pointer to the new
tail of `dest`. This optimization was introduced into clang-12.

Implement this so that we don't observe linkage failures due to missing
symbol definitions for `stpcpy`.

Similar to last year's fire drill with: commit 5f074f3e192f
("lib/string.c: implement a basic bcmp")

The kernel is somewhere between a "freestanding" environment (no full
libc) and "hosted" environment (many symbols from libc exist with the
same type, function signature, and semantics).

As Peter Anvin notes, there's not really a great way to inform the
compiler that you're targeting a freestanding environment but would like
to opt-in to some libcall optimizations (see pr/47280 below), rather
than opt-out.

Arvind notes, -fno-builtin-* behaves slightly differently between GCC
and Clang, and Clang is missing many __builtin_* definitions, which I
consider a bug in Clang and am working on fixing.

Masahiro summarizes the subtle distinction between compilers justly:
To prevent transformation from foo() into bar(), there are two ways in
Clang to do that; -fno-builtin-foo, and -fno-builtin-bar. There is
  only one in GCC; -fno-buitin-foo.

(Any difference in that behavior in Clang is likely a bug from a missing
__builtin_* definition.)

Masahiro also notes:
We want to disable optimization from foo() to bar(),
but we may still benefit from the optimization from
foo() into something else. If GCC implements the same transform, we
would run into a problem because it is not -fno-builtin-bar, but
  -fno-builtin-foo that disables that optimization.

In this regard, -fno-builtin-foo would be more future-proof than
-fno-built-bar, but -fno-builtin-foo is still potentially overkill. We
may want to prevent calls from foo() being optimized into calls to
bar(), but we still may want other optimization on calls to foo().

It seems that compilers today don't quite provide the fine grain control
over which libcall optimizations pseudo-freestanding environments would
prefer.

Finally, Kees notes that this interface is unsafe, so we should not
encourage its use. As such, I've removed the declaration from any
header, but it still needs to be exported to avoid linkage errors in
modules.

Linus Torvalds
a0775288e8 ida: don't use BUG_ON() for debugging
commit fc82bbf4dede758007763867d0282353c06d1121 upstream.

This is another old BUG_ON() that just shouldn't exist (see also commit
a382f8fee42c: "signal handling: don't use BUG_ON() for debugging").

In fact, as Matthew Wilcox points out, this condition shouldn't really
even result in a warning, since a negative id allocation result is just
a normal allocation failure:

"I wonder if we should even warn here -- sure, the caller is trying to
free something that wasn't allocated, but we don't warn for
   kfree(NULL)"

and goes on to point out how that current error check is only causing
people to unnecessarily do their own index range checking before freeing
it.

This was noted by Itay Iellin, because the bluetooth HCI socket cookie
code does *not* do that range checking, and ends up just freeing the
error case too, triggering the BUG_ON().

The HCI code requires CAP_NET_RAW, and seems to just result in an ugly
splat, but there really is no reason to BUG_ON() here, and we have
generally striven for allocation models where it's always ok to just do

    free(alloc());

even if the allocation were to fail for some random reason (usually
obviously that "random" reason being some resource limit).

84fb3b1d13 swiotlb: skip swiotlb_bounce when orig_addr is zero
After patch ddbd89deb7d3 ("swiotlb: fix info leak with DMA_FROM_DEVICE"),
swiotlb_bounce will be called in swiotlb_tbl_map_single unconditionally.
This requires that the physical address must be valid, which is not always
true on stable-4.19 or earlier version.
On stable-4.19, swiotlb_alloc_buffer will call swiotlb_tbl_map_single with
orig_addr equal to zero, which cause such a panic:

Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address ffffb77a40000000
...
pc : __memcpy+0x100/0x180
lr : swiotlb_bounce+0x74/0x88

 swiotlb_tbl_map_single+0x2c8/0x338
 swiotlb_alloc+0xb4/0x198

 ...

On stable-4.9 and stable-4.14, swiotlb_alloc_coherent wille call map_single
with orig_addr equal to zero, which can cause same panic.

Fix this by skipping swiotlb_bounce when orig_addr is zero.

fd97de9c7b Reinstate some of "swiotlb: rework "fix info leak with DMA_FROM_DEVICE""
commit 901c7280ca0d5e2b4a8929fbe0bfb007ac2a6544 upstream.

Halil Pasic points out [1] that the full revert of that commit (revert
in bddac7c1e02b), and that a partial revert that only reverts the
problematic case, but still keeps some of the cleanups is probably
better.

And that partial revert [2] had already been verified by Oleksandr
Natalenko to also fix the issue, I had just missed that in the long
discussion.

So let's reinstate the cleanups from commit aa6f8dcbab47 ("swiotlb:
rework "fix info leak with DMA_FROM_DEVICE""), and effectively only
revert the part that caused problems.

c132f2ba71 swiotlb: fix info leak with DMA_FROM_DEVICE
commit ddbd89deb7d32b1fbb879f48d68fda1a8ac58e8e upstream.

The problem I'm addressing was discovered by the LTP test covering
cve-2018-1000204.

A short description of what happens follows:
1) The test case issues a command code 00 (TEST UNIT READY) via the SG_IO
   interface with: dxfer_len == 524288, dxdfer_dir == SG_DXFER_FROM_DEV
and a corresponding dxferp. The peculiar thing about this is that TUR
is not reading from the device.
2) In sg_start_req() the invocation of blk_rq_map_user() effectively
bounces the user-space buffer. As if the device was to transfer into
it. Since commit a45b599ad808 ("scsi: sg: allocate with __GFP_ZERO in
sg_build_indirect()") we make sure this first bounce buffer is
   allocated with GFP_ZERO.
3) For the rest of the story we keep ignoring that we have a TUR, so the
device won't touch the buffer we prepare as if the we had a
DMA_FROM_DEVICE type of situation. My setup uses a virtio-scsi device
and the buffer allocated by SG is mapped by the function
virtqueue_add_split() which uses DMA_FROM_DEVICE for the "in" sgs (here
scatter-gather and not scsi generics). This mapping involves bouncing
via the swiotlb (we need swiotlb to do virtio in protected guest like
s390 Secure Execution, or AMD SEV).
4) When the SCSI TUR is done, we first copy back the content of the second
(that is swiotlb) bounce buffer (which most likely contains some
previous IO data), to the first bounce buffer, which contains all
zeros. Then we copy back the content of the first bounce buffer to
   the user-space buffer.
5) The test case detects that the buffer, which it zero-initialized,
  ain't all zeros and fails.

One can argue that this is an swiotlb problem, because without swiotlb
we leak all zeros, and the swiotlb should be transparent in a sense that
it does not affect the outcome (if all other participants are well
behaved).

Copying the content of the original buffer into the swiotlb buffer is
the only way I can think of to make swiotlb transparent in such
scenarios. So let's do just that if in doubt, but allow the driver
to tell us that the whole mapped buffer is going to be overwritten,
in which case we can preserve the old behavior and avoid the performance
impact of the extra bounce.

3ea5fefec0 random: remove ratelimiting for in-kernel unseeded randomness
commit cc1e127bfa95b5fb2f9307e7168bf8b2b45b4c5e upstream.

The CONFIG_WARN_ALL_UNSEEDED_RANDOM debug option controls whether the
kernel warns about all unseeded randomness or just the first instance.
There's some complicated rate limiting and comparison to the previous
caller, such that even with CONFIG_WARN_ALL_UNSEEDED_RANDOM enabled,
developers still don't see all the messages or even an accurate count of
how many were missed. This is the result of basically parallel
mechanisms aimed at accomplishing more or less the same thing, added at
different points in random.c history, which sort of compete with the
first-instance-only limiting we have now.

It turns out, however, that nobody cares about the first unseeded
randomness instance of in-kernel users. The same first user has been
there for ages now, and nobody is doing anything about it. It isn't even
clear that anybody _can_ do anything about it. Most places that can do
something about it have switched over to using get_random_bytes_wait()
or wait_for_random_bytes(), which is the right thing to do, but there is
still much code that needs randomness sometimes during init, and as a
geeneral rule, if you're not using one of the _wait functions or the
readiness notifier callback, you're bound to be doing it wrong just
based on that fact alone.

So warning about this same first user that can't easily change is simply
not an effective mechanism for anything at all. Users can't do anything
about it, as the Kconfig text points out -- the problem isn't in
userspace code -- and kernel developers don't or more often can't react
to it.

Instead, show the warning for all instances when CONFIG_WARN_ALL_UNSEEDED_RANDOM
is set, so that developers can debug things need be, or if it isn't set,
don't show a warning at all.

At the same time, CONFIG_WARN_ALL_UNSEEDED_RANDOM now implies setting
random.ratelimit_disable=1 on by default, since if you care about one
you probably care about the other too. And we can clean up usage around
the related urandom_warning ratelimiter as well (whose behavior isn't
changing), so that it properly counts missed messages after the 10
message threshold is reached.

99de0356b3 siphash: use one source of truth for siphash permutations
commit e73aaae2fa9024832e1f42e30c787c7baf61d014 upstream.

The SipHash family of permutations is currently used in three places:

- siphash.c itself, used in the ordinary way it was intended.
- random32.c, in a construction from an anonymous contributor.
- random.c, as part of its fast_mix function.

Each one of these places reinvents the wheel with the same C code, same
rotation constants, and same symmetry-breaking constants.

This commit tidies things up a bit by placing macros for the
permutations and constants into siphash.h, where each of the three .c
users can access them. It also leaves a note dissuading more users of
them from emerging.

f4f425f32c uapi: rename ext2_swab() to swab() and share globally in swab.h
[ Upstream commit d5767057c9a76a29f073dad66b7fa12a90e8c748 ]

ext2_swab() is defined locally in lib/find_bit.c However it is not
specific to ext2, neither to bitmaps.

There are many potential users of it, so rename it to just swab() and
move to include/uapi/linux/swab.h

ABI guarantees that size of unsigned long corresponds to BITS_PER_LONG,
therefore drop unneeded cast.

3ddb66f469 random: replace custom notifier chain with standard one
commit 5acd35487dc911541672b3ffc322851769c32a56 upstream.

We previously rolled our own randomness readiness notifier, which only
has two users in the whole kernel. Replace this with a more standard
atomic notifier block that serves the same purpose with less code. Also
unexport the symbols, because no modules use it, only unconditional
builtins. The only drawback is that it's possible for a notification
handler returning the "stop" code to prevent further processing, but
given that there are only two users, and that we're unexporting this
anyway, that doesn't seem like a significant drawback for the
simplification we receive here.

11e8da38f3 random: remove unused tracepoints
commit 14c174633f349cb41ea90c2c0aaddac157012f74 upstream.

These explicit tracepoints aren't really used and show sign of aging.
It's work to keep these up to date, and before I attempted to keep them
up to date, they weren't up to date, which indicates that they're not
really used. These days there are better ways of introspecting anyway.

70e975501f crypto: chacha20 - Fix chacha20_block() keystream alignment (again)
[ Upstream commit a5e9f557098e54af44ade5d501379be18435bfbf ]

In commit 9f480faec58c ("crypto: chacha20 - Fix keystream alignment for
chacha20_block()"), I had missed that chacha20_block() can be called
directly on the buffer passed to get_random_bytes(), which can have any
alignment. So, while my commit didn't break anything, it didn't fully
solve the alignment problems.

Revert my solution and just update chacha20_block() to use
put_unaligned_le32(), so the output buffer need not be aligned.
This is simpler, and on many CPUs it's the same speed.

But, I kept the 'tmp' buffers in extract_crng_user() and
_get_random_bytes() 4-byte aligned, since that alignment is actually

79dd56c9fe lib/crypto: sha1: re-roll loops to reduce code size
commit 9a1536b093bb5bf60689021275fd24d513bb8db0 upstream.

With SHA-1 no longer being used for anything performance oriented, and
also soon to be phased out entirely, we can make up for the space added
by unrolled BLAKE2s by simply re-rolling SHA-1. Since SHA-1 is so much
more complex, re-rolling it more or less takes care of the code size
added by BLAKE2s. And eventually, hopefully we'll see SHA-1 removed
entirely from most small kernel builds.

1815bfce3e lib/crypto: blake2s: move hmac construction into wireguard
commit d8d83d8ab0a453e17e68b3a3bed1f940c34b8646 upstream.

Basically nobody should use blake2s in an HMAC construction; it already
has a keyed variant. But unfortunately for historical reasons, Noise,
used by WireGuard, uses HKDF quite strictly, which means we have to use
this. Because this really shouldn't be used by others, this commit moves
it into wireguard's noise.c locally, so that kernels that aren't using
WireGuard don't get this superfluous code baked in. On m68k systems,
this shaves off ~314 bytes.

38ec02a401 crypto: blake2s - generic C library implementation and selftest
commit 66d7fb94e4ffe5acc589e0b2b4710aecc1f07a28 upstream.

The C implementation was originally based on Samuel Neves' public
domain reference implementation but has since been heavily modified
for the kernel. We're able to do compile-time optimizations by moving
some scaffolding around the final function into the header file.

63c60b6a3e crypto: chacha20 - Fix keystream alignment for chacha20_block()
commit 9f480faec58cd6197a007ea1dcac6b7c3daf1139 upstream.

When chacha20_block() outputs the keystream block, it uses 'u32' stores
directly. However, the callers (crypto/chacha20_generic.c and
drivers/char/random.c) declare the keystream buffer as a 'u8' array,
which is not guaranteed to have the needed alignment.

Fix it by having both callers declare the keystream as a 'u32' array.
For now this is preferable to switching over to the unaligned access
macros because chacha20_block() is only being used in cases where we can
easily control the alignment (stack buffers).

68b20d5c97 random: suppress spammy warnings about unseeded randomness
commit eecabf567422eda02bd179f2707d8fe24f52d888 upstream.

Unfortunately, on some models of some architectures getting a fully
seeded CRNG is extremely difficult, and so this can result in dmesg
getting spammed for a surprisingly long time. This is really bad from
a security perspective, and so architecture maintainers really need to
do what they can to get the CRNG seeded sooner after the system is
booted. However, users can't do anything actionble to address this,
and spamming the kernel messages log will only just annoy people.

For developers who want to work on improving this situation,
CONFIG_WARN_UNSEEDED_RANDOM has been renamed to
CONFIG_WARN_ALL_UNSEEDED_RANDOM. By default the kernel will always
print the first use of unseeded randomness. This way, hopefully the
security obsessed will be happy that there is _some_ indication when
the kernel boots there may be a potential issue with that architecture
or subarchitecture. To see all uses of unseeded randomness,
developers can enable CONFIG_WARN_ALL_UNSEEDED_RANDOM.

04e5bfa620 random: warn when kernel uses unseeded randomness
commit d06bfd1989fe97623b32d6df4ffa6e4338c99dc8 upstream.

This enables an important dmesg notification about when drivers have
used the crng without it being seeded first. Prior, these errors would
occur silently, and so there hasn't been a great way of diagnosing these
types of bugs for obscure setups. By adding this as a config option, we
can leave it on by default, so that we learn where these issues happen,
in the field, will still allowing some people to turn it off, if they
really know what they're doing and do not want the log entries.

However, we don't leave it _completely_ by default. An earlier version
of this patch simply had `default y`. I'd really love that, but it turns
out, this problem with unseeded randomness being used is really quite
present and is going to take a long time to fix. Thus, as a compromise
between log-messages-for-all and nobody-knows, this is `default y`,
except it is also `depends on DEBUG_KERNEL`. This will ensure that the
curious see the messages while others don't have to.

2811cda7d2 nodemask: Fix return values to be unsigned
[ Upstream commit 0dfe54071d7c828a02917b595456bfde1afdddc9 ]

The nodemask routines had mixed return values that provided potentially
signed return values that could never happen. This was leading to the
compiler getting confusing about the range of possible return values
(it was thinking things could be negative where they could not be). Fix
all the nodemask routines that should be returning unsigned
(or bool) values. Silences:

fb8067f18b dma-debug: change allocation mode from GFP_NOWAIT to GFP_ATIOMIC
[ Upstream commit 84bc4f1dbbbb5f8aa68706a96711dccb28b518e5 ]

We observed the error "cacheline tracking ENOMEM, dma-debug disabled"
during a light system load (copying some files). The reason for this error
is that the dma_active_cacheline radix tree uses GFP_NOWAIT allocation -
so it can't access the emergency memory reserves and it fails as soon as
anybody reaches the watermark.

This patch changes GFP_NOWAIT to GFP_ATOMIC, so that it can access the
emergency memory reserves.

Using the data from the core dump, I was able to generate a userspace

After running the iterator on the entire branch, an internal tree node
looked like the following:

    NODE (nr_leaves_on_branch: 3)
      SLOT [0] NODE (2 leaves)
      SLOT [1] NODE (1 leaf)
      SLOT [2..f] NODE (empty)

In the userspace reproducer, the pr_devel output when compressing this
node was:

    -- compress node 0x5607cc089380 --
    free=0, leaves=0
    [0] retain node 2/1 [nx 0]
    [1] fold node 1/1 [nx 0]
    [2] fold node 0/1 [nx 2]
    [3] fold node 0/2 [nx 2]
    [4] fold node 0/3 [nx 2]
    [5] fold node 0/4 [nx 2]
    [6] fold node 0/5 [nx 2]
    [7] fold node 0/6 [nx 2]
    [8] fold node 0/7 [nx 2]
    [9] fold node 0/8 [nx 2]
    [10] fold node 0/9 [nx 2]
    [11] fold node 0/10 [nx 2]
    [12] fold node 0/11 [nx 2]
    [13] fold node 0/12 [nx 2]
    [14] fold node 0/13 [nx 2]
    [15] fold node 0/14 [nx 2]
    after: 3

At slot 0, an internal node with 2 leaves could not be folded into the
node, because there was only one available slot (slot 0). Thus, the
internal node was retained. At slot 1, the node had one leaf, and was
able to be folded in successfully. The remaining nodes had no leaves,
and so were removed. By the end of the compression stage, there were 14
free slots, and only 3 leaf nodes. The tree was ascended and then its
parent node was compressed. When this node was seen, it could not be
folded, due to the internal node it contained.

The invariant for compression in this function is: whenever
nr_leaves_on_branch < ASSOC_ARRAY_FAN_OUT, the node should contain all
leaf nodes. The compression step currently cannot guarantee this, given
the corner case shown above.

To fix this issue, retry compression whenever we have retained a node,
and yet nr_leaves_on_branch < ASSOC_ARRAY_FAN_OUT. This second
compression will then allow the node in slot 1 to be folded in,
satisfying the invariant. Below is the output of the reproducer once the
fix is applied:

    -- compress node 0x560e9c562380 --
    free=0, leaves=0
    [0] retain node 2/1 [nx 0]
    [1] fold node 1/1 [nx 0]
    [2] fold node 0/1 [nx 2]
    [3] fold node 0/2 [nx 2]
    [4] fold node 0/3 [nx 2]
    [5] fold node 0/4 [nx 2]
    [6] fold node 0/5 [nx 2]
    [7] fold node 0/6 [nx 2]
    [8] fold node 0/7 [nx 2]
    [9] fold node 0/8 [nx 2]
    [10] fold node 0/9 [nx 2]
    [11] fold node 0/10 [nx 2]
    [12] fold node 0/11 [nx 2]
    [13] fold node 0/12 [nx 2]
    [14] fold node 0/13 [nx 2]
    [15] fold node 0/14 [nx 2]
internal nodes remain despite enough space, retrying
    -- compress node 0x560e9c562380 --
    free=14, leaves=1
    [0] fold node 2/15 [nx 0]
    after: 3

c419dc1f6b hex2bin: fix access beyond string end
commit e4d8a29997731b3bb14059024b24df9f784288d0 upstream.

If we pass too short string to "hex2bin" (and the string size without
the terminating NUL character is even), "hex2bin" reads one byte after
the terminating NUL character. This patch fixes it.

Note that hex_to_bin returns -1 on error and hex2bin return -EINVAL on
error - so we can't just return the variable "hi" or "lo" on error.
This inconsistency may be fixed in the next merge window, but for the
purpose of fixing this bug, we just preserve the existing behavior and
return -1 and -EINVAL.

75a7b4fdd6 hex2bin: make the function hex_to_bin constant-time
commit e5be15767e7e284351853cbaba80cde8620341fb upstream.

The function hex2bin is used to load cryptographic keys into device
mapper targets dm-crypt and dm-integrity. It should take constant time
independent on the processed data, so that concurrently running
unprivileged code can't infer any information about the keys via
microarchitectural convert channels.

This patch changes the function hex_to_bin so that it contains no
branches and no memory accesses.

Note that this shouldn't cause performance degradation because the size
of the new function is the same as the size of the old function (on
x86-64) - and the new function causes no branch misprediction penalties.

I compile-tested this function with gcc on aarch64 alpha arm hppa hppa64
i386 ia64 m68k mips32 mips64 powerpc powerpc64 riscv sh4 s390x sparc32
sparc64 x86_64 and with clang on aarch64 arm hexagon i386 mips32 mips64
powerpc powerpc64 s390x sparc32 sparc64 x86_64 to verify that there are
no branches in the generated code.

6f0d11bfbb lib/raid6/test: fix multiple definition linking error
commit a5359ddd052860bacf957e65fe819c63e974b3a6 upstream.

GCC 10+ defaults to -fno-common, which enforces proper declaration of
external references using "extern". without this change a link would
fail with:

  lib/raid6/test/algos.c:28: multiple definition of `raid6_call';
  lib/raid6/test/test.c:22: first defined here

the pq.h header that is included already includes an extern declaration
so we can just remove the redundant one here.

fa521242d0 ARM: 9178/1: fix unmet dependency on BITREVERSE for HAVE_ARCH_BITREVERSE
[ Upstream commit 11c57c3ba94da74c3446924260e34e0b1950b5d7 ]

Resending this to properly add it to the patch tracker - thanks for letting
me know, Arnd :)

When ARM is enabled, and BITREVERSE is disabled,
Kbuild gives the following warning:

WARNING: unmet direct dependencies detected for HAVE_ARCH_BITREVERSE
  Depends on [n]: BITREVERSE [=n]
  Selected by [y]:
  - ARM [=y] && (CPU_32v7M [=n] || CPU_32v7 [=y]) && !CPU_32v6 [=n]

This is because ARM selects HAVE_ARCH_BITREVERSE
without selecting BITREVERSE, despite
HAVE_ARCH_BITREVERSE depending on BITREVERSE.

This unmet dependency bug was found by Kismet,
a static analysis tool for Kconfig. Please advise if this
is not the appropriate solution.

f4e888faa8 ANDROID: clock_gettime(CLOCK_BOOTTIME,) slows down >20x
clock_gettime(CLOCK_BOOTTIME,) slows down after significant
accumulation of suspend time creating a large offset between it and
CLOCK_MONOTONIC time. The __iter_div_u64_rem() is only for the usage
of adding a few second+nanosecond times and saving cycles on more
expensive remainder and division operations, but iterates one second
at a time which quickly goes out of scale in CLOCK_BOOTTIME's case
since it was specified as nanoseconds only.

The fix is to split off seconds from the boot time and cap the
nanoseconds so that __iter_div_u64_rem does not iterate.

c38138b01e FROMLIST: lib: vdso: add support for time
(cherry pick from url https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10053549/)

Add time() vdso support to match up with existing support in the x86's
vdso. Currently benefitting arm and arm64 which uses the common
vgettimeofday.c implementation. On arm provides about a ~14 fold
improvement in speed over the straight syscall, and about a ~5 fold
improvement in speed over an alternate library implementation that
relies on the vdso call to gettimeofday to fulfill the request.

We can provide __vdso_time even if we can not provide a speed
enhanced __vdso_gettimeofday.

ec9b6d3b6c FROMLIST: [PATCH v5 12/12] lib: vdso: do not expose gettimeofday, if no arch supported timer
(cherry pick from url https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10044539/)

Take an effort to recode the arm64 vdso code from assembler to C
previously submitted by Andrew Pinski <apinski@cavium.com>, rework
it for use in both arm and arm64, overlapping any optimizations
for each architecture. But instead of landing it in arm64, land the
result into lib/vdso and unify both implementations to simplify
future maintenance.

If ARCH_PROVIDES_TIMER is not defined, do not expose gettimeofday.
libc will default directly to syscall. Also ifdef clock_gettime
switch cases and stubs if not supported and other unused components.

Add a case for CLOCK_BOOTTIME as it is popular for measuring
relative time on systems expected to suspend() or hibernate().

Android uses CLOCK_BOOTTIME for all relative time measurements
and timeouts. Switching to vdso reduced CPU utilization and improves
accuracy. There is also a desire by some partners to switch all
logging over to CLOCK_BOOTTIME, and thus this operation alone would
contribute to a near percentile CPU load.

6b5641e7f0 FROMLIST: [PATCH v5 09/12] arm: vdso: move vgettimeofday.c to lib/vdso/
(cherry pick from url https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/10044497/)

Take an effort to recode the arm64 vdso code from assembler to C
previously submitted by Andrew Pinski <apinski@cavium.com>, rework

for each architecture. But instead of landing it in arm64, land the

Declare arch/arm/vdso/vgettimeofday.c to be a candidate for a global
implementation of the vdso timer calls. The hope is that new
architectures can take advantage of the current unification of
arm and arm64 implementations.

We urge future efforts to merge their implementations into the
global vgettimeofday.c file and thus provide functional parity.

missing.

2a6d6f0481 UPSTREAM: lib/test_printf.c: accept "ptrval" as valid result for plain 'p' tests
If the test_printf module is loaded before the crng is initialized, the
plain 'p' tests will fail because the printed address will not be hashed
and the buffer will contain "(____ptrval____)" or "(ptrval)" instead
(64-bit vs 32-bit).
Since we cannot wait for the crng to be initialized for an undefined
time, both plain 'p' tests now accept the strings "(____ptrval____)" or
"(ptrval)" as a valid result and print a warning message.
