70f98fe87a Revert "msm: kgsl: Avoid busy waiting for fenced GMU writes"
This regresses 3DMark scores by a short margin due to regwrite being outside the spinlock
that causes potential race condition. Hence, revert this.

01288ce0b8 msm: kgsl: Set vm_pgoff of vma to zero
kgsl gets the entry id or the gpu address through vm_pgoff. It is used
during mmap and never needed again. But this pgoff has different meaning
at other parts of kernel. Not setting to zero will let way for wrong
assumption when tried to unmap a page from the vma.

780eac373e msm: kgsl: Skip VM page insert operations for IO-Coherent cached buffers
IO-Coherent cached buffers can be reclaimed. There is possibility that for
reclaimed buffer mmap() request can result into null pointer dereference
in vm_insert_page(). So, skip VM page insert operations for IO-coherent
cached buffers in mmap(). These buffers can be handled at CPU page fault
time in the kgsl vmfault handler.

cf29640e7d msm: kgsl: Trigger timers during inline submission
Currently, we don't trigger dispatcher timer while doing an inline
submission. This breaks the long ib detection. So, trigger dispatcher
timer during an inline submission.

5efb6f9434 msm: kgsl: Use kthread instead of workqueue for event work
Currently a workqueue is being used to process the event work. In certain
scenarios like when most of CPU cores are busy, there can be a significant
delay between the actual timestamp retire event and when the work is
processed by the events workqueue as workqueues cannot have RT priority.
Hence use kthread instead of workqueue for event work.

2c2d74762d BACKPORT: msm: kgsl: Allocate memory for sync callbacks using GFP_KERNEL
The sync fence callbacks are allocated in kernel context. Use the
GFP_KERNEL flag instead of GFP_ATOMIC to permit the allocation to
sleep if required.

dcfa825263 exposure_adjustment: Correct PCC coefficient and elvss threshold
This reverts commit e61b8a4f08

* These previous values makes DC Dimming worse (at least
  on cepheus), users can easily feel more tired eyes with
  these values, and also tests shows more flicker/backlight intensity.

* This also came to my mind after checking Ayrton's/Quantic kernel
  values for cepheus [1].

c34bd09336 msm: adreno: Relax CPU latency requirements to save power
Relaxing the CPU latency requirement by about 500 us won't significantly
hurt graphics performance. On the flip side, most SoCs have many idle
levels just below 1000 us in latency, with deeper idle levels having
latencies in excess of 2000 us. Changing the latency requirement to
1000 us allows most SoCs to use their deepest sub-1000-us idle state
while the GPU is active.

Additionally, since the lpm driver has been updated to allow power
levels with latencies equal to target latencies, change the wakeup
latency from 101 to 100 for clarity.

If it is async, runqueue_node is freed in g2d_runqueue_worker on another
worker thread. So in extreme cases, if g2d_runqueue_worker runs first, and
then executes the following if statement, there will be use-after-free.

791cf4a8d8 drm/nouveau/dp: check for NULL nv_connector->native_mode

Add checking for NULL before calling nouveau_connector_detect_depth() in
nouveau_connector_get_modes() function because nv_connector->native_mode
could be dereferenced there since connector pointer passed to
nouveau_connector_detect_depth() and the same value of
nv_connector->native_mode is used there.

Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with SVACE.

35a9464e34 drm/amdgpu: fix xclk freq on CHIP_STONEY

According to Alex, most APUs from that time seem to have the same issue
(vbios says 48Mhz, actual is 100Mhz).  I only have a CHIP_STONEY so I

a4bb4f119d drm/tegra: Avoid potential 32-bit integer overflow

In tegra_sor_compute_config(), the 32-bit value mode->clock is
multiplied by 1000, and assigned to the u64 variable pclk. We can avoid
a potential 32-bit integer overflow by casting mode->clock to u64 before
we do the arithmetic and assignment.

74400353bd drm/probe-helper: Cancel previous job before starting new one

Currently we schedule a call to output_poll_execute from
drm_kms_helper_poll_enable for 10s in future. Later we try to replace
that in drm_helper_probe_single_connector_modes with a 0s schedule with
delayed_event set.

But as there is already a job in the queue this fails, and the immediate
job we wanted with delayed_event set doesn't occur until 10s later.

And that call acts as if connector state has changed, reprobing modes.
This has a side effect of waking up a display that has been blanked.

Make sure we cancel the old job before submitting the immediate one.

0f04e217ca drm/vgem: add missing mutex_destroy

vgem_fence_open() instantiates a mutex for a particular fence
instance, but never destroys it by calling mutex_destroy() in
vgem_fence_close().

So, add the missing mutex_destroy() to guarantee proper resource
destruction.

51767aa561 msm: kgsl: Keep postamble packets in a privileged buffer
Postamble packets are executed in privileged mode by gpu. So we should keep
them in a privileged scratch buffer to block userspace access. For
targets with APRIV feature support, we can mark the preemption scratch
buffer as privileged too to avoid similar issues in future.

1c9544fbc9 drm/etnaviv: fix reference leak when mmaping imported buffer
commit 963b2e8c428f79489ceeb058e8314554ec9cbe6f upstream.

drm_gem_prime_mmap() takes a reference on the GEM object, but before that
drm_gem_mmap_obj() already takes a reference, which will be leaked as only
one reference is dropped when the mapping is closed. Drop the extra
reference when dma_buf_mmap() succeeds.

6276340842 drm/i915: Don't use stolen memory for ring buffers with LLC
commit 690e0ec8e63da9a29b39fedc6ed5da09c7c82651 upstream.

Direction from hardware is that stolen memory should never be used for
ring buffer allocations on platforms with LLC. There are too many
caching pitfalls due to the way stolen memory accesses are routed. So
it is safest to just not use it.

7f973ce983 drm/i915: Don't use BAR mappings for ring buffers with LLC
commit 85636167e3206c3fbd52254fc432991cc4e90194 upstream.

Direction from hardware is that ring buffers should never be mapped
via the BAR on systems with LLC. There are too many caching pitfalls
due to the way BAR accesses are routed. So it is safest to just not
use it.

cc07b53372 drm/radeon: Fix eDP for single-display iMac11,2
commit 05eacc198c68cbb35a7281ce4011f8899ee1cfb8 upstream.

Apple iMac11,2 (mid 2010) also with Radeon HD-4670 that has the same
issue as iMac10,1 (late 2009) where the internal eDP panel stays dark on
driver load.  This patch treats iMac11,2 the same as iMac10,1,
so the eDP panel stays active.

Additional steps:
Kernel boot parameter radeon.nomodeset=0 required to keep the eDP
panel active.

bbff585cb5 drm/mipi-dsi: Fix byte order of 16-bit DCS set/get brightness

The MIPI DCS specification demands that brightness values are sent in
big endian byte order. It also states that one parameter (i.e. one byte)
shall be sent/received for 8 bit wide values, and two parameters shall
be used for values that are between 9 and 16 bits wide.

Add new functions to properly handle 16-bit brightness in big endian,
since the two 8- and 16-bit cases are distinct from each other.

f833c7f40d drm/bridge: megachips: Fix error handling in i2c_register_driver()

A problem about insmod megachips-stdpxxxx-ge-b850v3-fw.ko failed is
triggered with the following log given:

[ 4497.981497] Error: Driver 'stdp4028-ge-b850v3-fw' is already registered, aborting...
insmod: ERROR: could not insert module megachips-stdpxxxx-ge-b850v3-fw.ko: Device or resource busy

The reason is that stdpxxxx_ge_b850v3_init() returns i2c_add_driver()
directly without checking its return value, if i2c_add_driver() failed,
it returns without calling i2c_del_driver() on the previous i2c driver,
resulting the megachips-stdpxxxx-ge-b850v3-fw can never be installed
later.
A simple call graph is shown as below:

 stdpxxxx_ge_b850v3_init()
   i2c_add_driver(&stdp4028_ge_b850v3_fw_driver)
   i2c_add_driver(&stdp2690_ge_b850v3_fw_driver)
     i2c_register_driver()

Fix by calling i2c_del_driver() on stdp4028_ge_b850v3_fw_driver when
i2c_add_driver() returns error.

Freescale/NXP i.MX LCDIF and eLCDIF LCD controllers are only present on
Freescale/NXP i.MX SoCs.  Hence add a dependency on ARCH_MXS ||
ARCH_MXC, to prevent asking the user about this driver when configuring
a kernel without Freescale/NXP i.MX support.

9c3f2cf3f5 msm: kgsl: Make sure that pool pages don't have any extra references
Before putting a page back in the pool be sure that it doesn't have
any additional references that would be a signal that somebody else
is looking at the page and that it would be a bad idea to keep it
around and run the risk of accidentally handing it to a different
process.

a75acdbe3b msm: kgsl: Use dma_buf_get() to get dma_buf structure
Currently we don't ensure if vma->vm_file is associated with dma_buf. This
can cause issues later when private_data from a non dma_buf file is used as
dma_buf structure. Hence get the fd that is associated with vma->vm_file
and use dma_buf_get() to get pointer to dma_buf structure. dma_buf_get()
ensures that the file from the input fd is associated with dma_buf.

50d177f90b drm/vmwgfx: Validate the box size for the snooped cursor

Invalid userspace dma surface copies could potentially overflow
the memcpy from the surface to the snooped image leading to crashes.
To fix it the dimensions of the copybox have to be validated
against the expected size of the snooped cursor.
