0fec076501 selftests/x86: Add validity check and allow field splitting
[ Upstream commit b06e15ebd5bfb670f93c7f11a29b8299c1178bc6 ]

Add check to test if CC has a string. CC can have multiple sub-strings
like "ccache gcc". Erorr pops up if it is treated as single string and
double quotes are used around it. This can be fixed by removing the
quotes and not treating CC as a single string.

b8fe47f81d kselftest/vm: fix tests build with old libc
[ Upstream commit b773827e361952b3f53ac6fa4c4e39ccd632102e ]

The error message when I build vm tests on debian10 (GLIBC 2.28):

    userfaultfd.c: In function `userfaultfd_pagemap_test':
userfaultfd.c:1393:37: error: `MADV_PAGEOUT' undeclared (first use
in this function); did you mean `MADV_RANDOM'?
      if (madvise(area_dst, test_pgsize, MADV_PAGEOUT))
                                         ^~~~~~~~~~~~
                                         MADV_RANDOM

This patch includes these newer definitions from UAPI linux/mman.h, is
useful to fix tests build on systems without these definitions in glibc

086e3685ef selftests/memfd: clean up mapping in mfd_fail_write
[ Upstream commit fda153c89af344d21df281009a9d046cf587ea0f ]

Running the memfd script ./run_hugetlbfs_test.sh will often end in error
as follows:

    memfd-hugetlb: CREATE
    memfd-hugetlb: BASIC
    memfd-hugetlb: SEAL-WRITE
    memfd-hugetlb: SEAL-FUTURE-WRITE
    memfd-hugetlb: SEAL-SHRINK
fallocate(ALLOC) failed: No space left on device
    ./run_hugetlbfs_test.sh: line 60: 166855 Aborted (core dumped) ./memfd_test hugetlbfs
    opening: ./mnt/memfd
    fuse: DONE

If no hugetlb pages have been preallocated, run_hugetlbfs_test.sh will
allocate 'just enough' pages to run the test. In the SEAL-FUTURE-WRITE
test the mfd_fail_write routine maps the file, but does not unmap. As a
result, two hugetlb pages remain reserved for the mapping. When the
fallocate call in the SEAL-SHRINK test attempts allocate all hugetlb
pages, it is short by the two reserved pages.

Fix by making sure to unmap in mfd_fail_write.

957568ede6 selftests/zram: Adapt the situation that /dev/zram0 is being used
[ Upstream commit 01dabed20573804750af5c7bf8d1598a6bf7bf6e ]

If zram-generator package is installed and works, then we can not remove
zram module because zram swap is being used. This case needs a clean zram
environment, change this test by using hot_add/hot_remove interface. So
even zram device is being used, we still can add zram device and remove
them in cleanup.

The two interface was introduced since kernel commit 6566d1a32bf7("zram:
add dynamic device add/remove functionality") in v4.2-rc1. If kernel
supports these two interface, we use hot_add/hot_remove to slove this
problem, if not, just check whether zram is being used or built in, then
skip it on old kernel.

[ Upstream commit d18da7ec3719559d6e74937266d0416e6c7e0b31 ]

zram01 uses `free -m` to measure zram memory usage. The results are no
sense because they are polluted by all running processes on the system.

We Should only calculate the free memory delta for the current process.
So use the third field of /sys/block/zram<id>/mm_stat to measure memory
usage instead. The file is available since kernel 4.1.

orig_data_size(first): uncompressed size of data stored in this disk.
compr_data_size(second): compressed size of data stored in this disk
mem_used_total(third): the amount of memory allocated for this disk

Also remove useless zram cleanup call in zram_fill_fs and so we don't
need to cleanup zram twice if fails.

[ Upstream commit fc4eb486a59d70bd35cf1209f0e68c2d8b979193 ]

Since commit 43209ea2d1 ("zram: remove max_comp_streams internals"), zram
has switched to per-cpu streams. Even kernel still keep this interface for
some reasons, but writing to max_comp_stream doesn't take any effect. So
skip it on newer kernel ie 4.7.

The code that comparing kernel version is from xfstests testsuite ext4/053.

Recursive make commands should always use the variable MAKE, not the
explicit command name ‘make’. This has benefits and removes the
following warning when multiple jobs are used for the build:

After scrubbing the BPF prog a bit from the noise, turns out it called
bpf_skb_change_head() for the lwt_xmit prog with headroom of 2. Nothing
wrong in that, however, this was run with repeat >> 0 in bpf_prog_test_run_skb()
and the same skb thus keeps changing until the pskb_expand_head() called
from skb_cow() keeps bailing out in atomic alloc context with -ENOMEM.
So upon return we'll basically have 0 headroom left yet blindly do the
__skb_push() of 14 bytes and keep copying data from there in bpf_test_finish()
out of bounds. Fix to check if we have enough headroom and if pskb_expand_head()
fails, bail out with error.

Another bug independent of this fix (but related in triggering above) is
that BPF_PROG_TEST_RUN should be reworked to reset the skb/xdp buffer to
it's original state from input as otherwise repeating the same test in a
loop won't work for benchmarking when underlying input buffer is getting
changed by the prog each time and reused for the next run leading to
unexpected results.

afdf28857c wireguard: device: reset peer src endpoint when netns exits
Each peer's endpoint contains a dst_cache entry that takes a reference
to another netdev. When the containing namespace exits, we take down the
socket and prevent future sockets from being created (by setting
creating_net to NULL), which removes that potential reference on the
netns. However, it doesn't release references to the netns that a netdev
cached in dst_cache might be taking, so the netns still might fail to
exit. Since the socket is gimped anyway, we can simply clear all the
dst_caches (by way of clearing the endpoint src), which will release all
references.

However, the current dst_cache_reset function only releases those
references lazily. But it turns out that all of our usages of
wg_socket_clear_peer_endpoint_src are called from contexts that are not
exactly high-speed or bottle-necked. For example, when there's
connection difficulty, or when userspace is reconfiguring the interface.
And in particular for this patch, when the netns is exiting. So for
those cases, it makes more sense to call dst_release immediately. For
that, we add a small helper function to dst_cache.

This patch also adds a test to netns.sh from Hangbin Liu to ensure this
doesn't regress.

Since this test will be scheduled by 0Day to a random host that could have

In practice, i tried to pin it to only one cpu by 'taskset 0x01 ./test_maps',
and knew 10S is likely enough, but i still perfer to a larger value 30.

6ba6ec83cb UPSTREAM: wireguard: device: avoid circular netns references
Before, we took a reference to the creating netns if the new netns was
different. This caused issues with circular references, with two
wireguard interfaces swapping namespaces. The solution is to rather not
take any extra references at all, but instead simply invalidate the
creating netns pointer when that netns is deleted.

In order to prevent this from happening again, this commit improves the
rough object leak tracking by allowing it to account for created and
destroyed interfaces, aside from just peers and keys. That then makes it
possible to check for the object leak when having two interfaces take a
reference to each others' namespaces.

63d4efe55e UPSTREAM: wireguard: socket: remove errant restriction on looping to self
It's already possible to create two different interfaces and loop
packets between them. This has always been possible with tunnels in the
kernel, and isn't specific to wireguard. Therefore, the networking stack
already needs to deal with that. At the very least, the packet winds up
exceeding the MTU and is discarded at that point. So, since this is
already something that happens, there's no need to forbid the not very
exceptional case of routing a packet back to the same interface; this
loop is no different than others, and we shouldn't special case it, but
rather rely on generic handling of loops in general. This also makes it
easier to do interesting things with wireguard such as onion routing.

At the same time, we add a selftest for this, ensuring that both onion
routing works and infinite routing loops do not crash the kernel. We
also add a test case for wireguard interfaces nesting packets and
sending traffic between each other, as well as the loop in this case
too. We make sure to send some throughput-heavy traffic for this use
case, to stress out any possible recursion issues with the locks around
workqueues.

aafa5eab30 UPSTREAM: wireguard: selftests: use normal kernel stack size on ppc64
While at some point it might have made sense to be running these tests
on ppc64 with 4k stacks, the kernel hasn't actually used 4k stacks on

don't really work when we deviate from the default (16k). So, we stop
pushing our luck in this commit, and return to the default instead of

f41f1173f6 UPSTREAM: wireguard: noise: error out precomputed DH during handshake rather than config
We precompute the static-static ECDH during configuration time, in order
to save an expensive computation later when receiving network packets.
However, not all ECDH computations yield a contributory result. Prior,
we were just not letting those peers be added to the interface. However,
this creates a strange inconsistency, since it was still possible to add
other weird points, like a valid public key plus a low-order point, and,
like points that result in zeros, a handshake would not complete. In
order to make the behavior more uniform and less surprising, simply
allow all peers to be added. Then, we'll error out later when doing the
crypto if there's an issue. This also adds more separation between the
crypto layer and the configuration layer.

3cecc2f8c4 UPSTREAM: wireguard: device: use icmp_ndo_send helper
Because wireguard is calling icmp from network device context, it should
use the ndo helper so that the rate limiting applies correctly. This
commit adds a small test to the wireguard test suite to ensure that the
new functions continue doing the right thing in the context of
wireguard. It does this by setting up a condition that will definately
evoke an icmp error message from the driver, but along a nat'd path.

fa218c7fc0 UPSTREAM: wireguard: selftests: remove ancient kernel compatibility code
Quite a bit of the test suite was designed to work with ancient kernels.
Thankfully we no longer have to deal with this. This commit updates
things that we can finally update and removes things that we can finally
remove, to avoid the build-up of the last several years as a result of
having to support ancient kernels. We can finally rely on suppress_
prefixlength being available. On the build side of things, the no-PIE
hack is no longer required, and we can bump some of the tools, repair
our m68k and i686-kvm support, and get better coverage of the static
branches used in the crypto lib and in udp_tunnel.

66e7fae536 UPSTREAM: wireguard: selftests: import harness makefile for test suite
WireGuard has been using this on build.wireguard.com for the last
several years with considerable success. It allows for very quick and
iterative development cycles, and supports several platforms.

To run the test suite on your current platform in QEMU:

  $ make -C tools/testing/selftests/wireguard/qemu -j$(nproc)

To run it with KASAN and such turned on:

  $ DEBUG_KERNEL=yes make -C tools/testing/selftests/wireguard/qemu -j$(nproc)

To run it emulated for another platform in QEMU:

  $ ARCH=arm make -C tools/testing/selftests/wireguard/qemu -j$(nproc)

At the moment, we support aarch64_be, aarch64, arm, armeb, i686, m68k,
mips64, mips64el, mips, mipsel, powerpc64le, powerpc, and x86_64.

The system supports incremental rebuilding, so it should be very fast to
change a single file and then test it out and have immediate feedback.

This requires for the right toolchain and qemu to be installed prior.
I've had success with those from musl.cc.

This is tailored for WireGuard at the moment, though later projects
might generalize it for other network testing.

0b2dd04fcf UPSTREAM: net: WireGuard secure network tunnel
WireGuard is a layer 3 secure networking tunnel made specifically for
the kernel, that aims to be much simpler and easier to audit than IPsec.
Extensive documentation and description of the protocol and
considerations, along with formal proofs of the cryptography, are
available at:

  * https://www.wireguard.com/
  * https://www.wireguard.com/papers/wireguard.pdf

This commit implements WireGuard as a simple network device driver,
accessible in the usual RTNL way used by virtual network drivers. It
makes use of the udp_tunnel APIs, GRO, GSO, NAPI, and the usual set of
networking subsystem APIs. It has a somewhat novel multicore queueing
system designed for maximum throughput and minimal latency of encryption
operations, but it is implemented modestly using workqueues and NAPI.
Configuration is done via generic Netlink, and following a review from
the Netlink maintainer a year ago, several high profile userspace tools
have already implemented the API.

This commit also comes with several different tests, both in-kernel
tests and out-of-kernel tests based on network namespaces, taking profit
of the fact that sockets used by WireGuard intentionally stay in the
namespace the WireGuard interface was originally created, exactly like
the semantics of userspace tun devices. See wireguard.com/netns/ for
pictures and examples.

The source code is fairly short, but rather than combining everything
into a single file, WireGuard is developed as cleanly separable files,
making auditing and comprehension easier. Things are laid out as
follows:

  * noise.[ch], cookie.[ch], messages.h: These implement the bulk of the
cryptographic aspects of the protocol, and are mostly data-only in
nature, taking in buffers of bytes and spitting out buffers of
bytes. They also handle reference counting for their various shared
pieces of data, like keys and key lists.

  * ratelimiter.[ch]: Used as an integral part of cookie.[ch] for
ratelimiting certain types of cryptographic operations in accordance
    with particular WireGuard semantics.

  * allowedips.[ch], peerlookup.[ch]: The main lookup structures of
WireGuard, the former being trie-like with particular semantics, an
integral part of the design of the protocol, and the latter just
being nice helper functions around the various hashtables we use.

  * device.[ch]: Implementation of functions for the netdevice and for
rtnl, responsible for maintaining the life of a given interface and
wiring it up to the rest of WireGuard.

  * peer.[ch]: Each interface has a list of peers, with helper functions
available here for creation, destruction, and reference counting.

  * socket.[ch]: Implementation of functions related to udp_socket and
the general set of kernel socket APIs, for sending and receiving
ciphertext UDP packets, and taking care of WireGuard-specific sticky
socket routing semantics for the automatic roaming.

  * netlink.[ch]: Userspace API entry point for configuring WireGuard
peers and devices. The API has been implemented by several userspace
tools and network management utility, and the WireGuard project
    distributes the basic wg(8) tool.

  * queueing.[ch]: Shared function on the rx and tx path for handling
the various queues used in the multicore algorithms.

  * send.c: Handles encrypting outgoing packets in parallel on
multiple cores, before sending them in order on a single core, via
workqueues and ring buffers. Also handles sending handshake and cookie
messages as part of the protocol, in parallel.

  * receive.c: Handles decrypting incoming packets in parallel on
multiple cores, before passing them off in order to be ingested via
the rest of the networking subsystem with GRO via the typical NAPI
poll function. Also handles receiving handshake and cookie messages
as part of the protocol, in parallel.

  * timers.[ch]: Uses the timer wheel to implement protocol particular
event timeouts, and gives a set of very simple event-driven entry
    point functions for callers.

  * main.c, version.h: Initialization and deinitialization of the module.

  * selftest/*.h: Runtime unit tests for some of the most security
    sensitive functions.

  * tools/testing/selftests/wireguard/netns.sh: Aforementioned testing
    script using network namespaces.

This commit aims to be as self-contained as possible, implementing
WireGuard as a standalone module not needing much special handling or
coordination from the network subsystem. I expect for future
optimizations to the network stack to positively improve WireGuard, and
vice-versa, but for the time being, this exists as intentionally
standalone.

We introduce a menu option for CONFIG_WIREGUARD, as well as providing a
verbose debug log and self-tests via CONFIG_WIREGUARD_DEBUG.

61b89b41bd selftest: use mmap instead of posix_memalign to allocate memory
commit 0db282ba2c12c1515d490d14a1ff696643ab0f1b upstream.

This test passes pointers obtained from anon_allocate_area to the
userfaultfd and mremap APIs. This causes a problem if the system
allocator returns tagged pointers because with the tagged address ABI
the kernel rejects tagged addresses passed to these APIs, which would
end up causing the test to fail. To make this test compatible with such
system allocators, stop using the system allocator to allocate memory in
anon_allocate_area, and instead just use mmap.

4d874bb93e selftests/powerpc: Fix "no_handler" EBB selftest
[ Upstream commit 45677c9aebe926192e59475b35a1ff35ff2d4217 ]

The "no_handler_test" in ebb selftests attempts to read the PMU
registers twice via helper function "dump_ebb_state". First dump is
just before closing of event and the second invocation is done after
closing of the event. The original intention of second
dump_ebb_state was to dump the state of registers at the end of
the test when the counters are frozen. But this will be achieved
with the first call itself since sample period is set to low value
and PMU will be frozen by then. Hence patch removes the
dump which was done before closing of the event.

c59680b928 selftests/vm/pkeys: fix alloc_random_pkey() to make it really, really random
[ Upstream commit f36ef407628835a7d7fb3d235b1f1aac7022d9a3 ]

Patch series "selftests/vm/pkeys: Bug fixes and a new test".

There has been a lot of activity on the x86 front around the XSAVE
architecture which is used to context-switch processor state (among other
things). In addition, AMD has recently joined the protection keys club by
adding processor support for PKU.

The AMD implementation helped uncover a kernel bug around the PKRU "init
state", which actually applied to Intel's implementation but was just
harder to hit. This series adds a test which is expected to help find
this class of bug both on AMD and Intel. All the work around pkeys on x86
also uncovered a few bugs in the selftest.

This patch (of 4):

The "random" pkey allocation code currently does the good old:

	srand((unsigned int)time(NULL));

*But*, it unfortunately does this on every random pkey allocation.

There may be thousands of these a second. time() has a one second
resolution. So, each time alloc_random_pkey() is called, the PRNG is
*RESET* to time(). This is nasty. Normally, if you do:

	srand(<ANYTHING>);
	foo = rand();
	bar = rand();

You'll be quite guaranteed that 'foo' and 'bar' are different. But, if
you do:

	srand(1);
	foo = rand();
	srand(1);
	bar = rand();

You are quite guaranteed that 'foo' and 'bar' are the *SAME*. The recent
"fix" effectively forced the test case to use the same "random" pkey for
the whole test, unless the test run crossed a second boundary.

Only run srand() once at program startup.

This explains some very odd and persistent test failures I've been seeing.

ecc26ff830 selftests/bpf: make 'dubious pointer arithmetic' test useful
commit 31e95b61e172144bb2b626a291db1bdc0769275b upstream.

mostly revert the previous workaround and make
'dubious pointer arithmetic' test useful again.
Use (ptr - ptr) << const instead of ptr << const to generate large scalar.
The rest stays as before commit 2b36047e7889.

591da46fae selftests/bpf: fix test_align
commit 2b36047e7889b7efee22c11e17f035f721855731 upstream.

since commit 82abbf8d2fc4 the verifier rejects the bit-wise
arithmetic on pointers earlier.
The test 'dubious pointer arithmetic' now has less output to match on.
Adjust it.
