UPSTREAM: media: rc: Fix use-after-free bugs caused by ene_tx_irqsim()

When the ene device is detaching, function ene_remove() will
be called. But there is no function to cancel tx_sim_timer
in ene_remove(), the timer handler ene_tx_irqsim() could race
with ene_remove(). As a result, the UAF bugs could happen,
the process is shown below.

Fix by adding del_timer_sync(&dev->tx_sim_timer) in ene_remove(),
The tx_sim_timer could stop before ene device is deallocated.
What's more, The rc_unregister_device() and del_timer_sync()
should be called first in ene_remove() and the deallocated
functions such as free_irq(), release_region() and so on
should be called behind them. Because the rc_unregister_device()
is well synchronized. Otherwise, race conditions may happen. The
situations that may lead to race conditions are shown below.
Firstly, the rx receiver is disabled with ene_rx_disable()
before rc_unregister_device() in ene_remove(), which means it
can be enabled again if a process opens /dev/lirc0 between
ene_rx_disable() and rc_unregister_device().
Secondly, the irqaction descriptor is freed by free_irq()
before the rc device is unregistered, which means irqaction
descriptor may be accessed again after it is deallocated.
Thirdly, the timer can call ene_tx_sample() that can write
to the io ports, which means the io ports could be accessed
again after they are deallocated by release_region().
Therefore, the rc_unregister_device() and del_timer_sync()
should be called first in ene_remove().

On receiving last buffer driver puts MFC to MFCINST_FINISHING state which
in turn skips transferring of frame from SRC to REF queue. This causes
driver to stop MFC encoding and last frame is lost.

correct clearing of workbit to avoid early stopping of encoding.

media: dvb-core: Fix UAF due to refcount races at releasing
commit fd3d91ab1c6ab0628fe642dd570b56302c30a792 upstream. The dvb-core tries to sync the releases of opened files at dvb_dmxdev_release() with two refcounts: dvbdev->users and dvr_dvbdev->users. A problem is present in those two syncs: when yet another dvb_demux_open() is called during those sync waits, dvb_demux_open() continues to process even if the device is being closed. This includes the increment of the former refcount, resulting in the leftover refcount after the sync of the latter refcount at dvb_dmxdev_release(). It ends up with use-after-free, since the function believes that all usages were gone and releases the resources. This patch addresses the problem by adding the check of dmxdev->exit flag at dvb_demux_open(), just like dvb_dvr_open() already does. With the exit flag check, the second call of dvb_demux_open() fails, hence the further corruption can be avoided. Also for avoiding the races of the dmxdev->exit flag reference, this patch serializes the dmxdev->exit set up and the sync waits with the dmxdev->mutex lock at dvb_dmxdev_release(). Without the mutex lock, dvb_demux_open() (or dvb_dvr_open()) may run concurrently with dvb_dmxdev_release(), which allows to skip the exit flag check and continue the open process that is being closed. CVE-2022-41218 is assigned to those bugs above. media: dvb-core: Fix double free in dvb_register_device()

In function dvb_register_device() -> dvb_register_media_device() ->
dvb_create_media_entity(), dvb->entity is allocated and initialized. If
the initialization fails, it frees the dvb->entity, and return an error
code. The caller takes the error code and handles the error by calling
dvb_media_device_free(), which unregisters the entity and frees the
field again if it is not NULL. As dvb->entity may not NULLed in
dvb_create_media_entity() when the allocation of dvbdev->pad fails, a
double free may occur. This may also cause an Use After free in
media_device_unregister_entity().
Fix this by storing NULL to dvb->entity when it is freed.

syzbot reported use-after-free in si470x_int_in_callback() [1]. This
indicates that urb->context, which contains struct si470x_device
object, is freed when si470x_int_in_callback() is called.
The cause of this issue is that si470x_int_in_callback() is called for
freed urb.
si470x_usb_driver_probe() calls si470x_start_usb(), which then calls
usb_submit_urb() and si470x_start(). If si470x_start_usb() fails,
si470x_usb_driver_probe() doesn't kill urb, but it just frees struct
si470x_device object, as depicted below:

This patch fixes this issue by killing urb when si470x_start_usb()

media: dvb-usb: fix memory leak in dvb_usb_adapter_init()

Syzbot reports a memory leak in "dvb_usb_adapter_init()".
The leak is due to not accounting for and freeing current iteration's
adapter->priv in case of an error. Currently if an error occurs,
it will exit before incrementing "num_adapters_initalized",
which is used as a reference counter to free all adap->priv
in "dvb_usb_adapter_exit()". There are multiple error paths that
can exit from before incrementing the counter. Including the
error handling paths for "dvb_usb_adapter_stream_init()",
"dvb_usb_adapter_dvb_init()" and "dvb_usb_adapter_frontend_init()"
within "dvb_usb_adapter_init()".
This means that in case of an error in any of these functions the
current iteration is not accounted for and the current iteration's
adap->priv is not freed.
Fix this by freeing the current iteration's adap->priv in the
"stream_init_err:" label in the error path. The rest of the
(accounted for) adap->priv objects are freed in dvb_usb_adapter_exit()
as expected using the num_adapters_initalized variable.

In dvb_register_frontend(), dvb_register_device() is possible to fail
but its return value is ignored.

media: videobuf-dma-contig: use dma_mmap_coherent

dma_alloc_coherent does not return a physical address, but a DMA address,
which might be remapped or have an offset. Passing the DMA address to
vm_iomap_memory is thus broken.
Use the proper dma_mmap_coherent helper instead, and stop passing
__GFP_COMP to dma_alloc_coherent, as the memory management inside the
DMA allocator is hidden from the callers and does not require it.
With this the gfp_t argument to __videobuf_dc_alloc can be removed and
hard coded to GFP_KERNEL.

A problem about modprobe s5p_fimc failed is triggered with the
following log given:

modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 's5p_fimc': Device or resource busy
The reason is that fimc_md_init() returns platform_driver_register()
directly without checking its return value, if platform_driver_register()
failed, it returns without unregister fimc_driver, resulting the
s5p_fimc can never be installed later.

It is because the error handling in vidtv_bridge_dvb_init() is wrong.
First, vidtv_bridge_dmx(dev)_init() will clean themselves when fail, but
goto fail_dmx(_dev): calls release functions again, which causes
use-after-free.
Also, in fail_fe, fail_tuner_probe and fail_demod_probe, j = i will cause
out-of-bound when i finished its loop (i == NUM_FE). And the loop
releasing is wrong, although now NUM_FE is 1 so it won't cause problem.
Fix this by correctly releasing everything.

Commit 1f391df44607 ("media: v4l2-async: Use endpoints in
__v4l2_async_nf_add_fwnode_remote()") changed the data that is stored in
the v4l2_async_subdev internals from the fwnode pointer to the parent
device to the fwnode pointer to the matched endpoint. This broke the
sensor matching code, which relied on the particular fwnode data in the
v4l2_async_subdev internals. Fix this by simply matching the
v4l2_async_subdev pointer, which is already available there.

When moving the input selection to adv748x_reset() it was missed that
during probe the device is reset _before_ the initialization and parsing
of DT by the AFE subdevice. This can lead to the wrong input port (in
case it's not port 0) being selected until the device is reset for the
first time.
Fix this by restoring the call to adv748x_afe_s_input() in the AFE
initialization while also keeping it in the adv748x_reset().

media: v4l2-dv-timings.c: fix too strict blanking sanity checks

Sanity checks were added to verify the v4l2_bt_timings blanking fields in order to avoid integer overflows when userspace passes weird values. But that assumed that userspace would correctly fill in the front porch, backporch and sync values, but sometimes all you know is the total blanking, which is then assigned to just one of these fields. And that can fail with these checks. So instead set a maximum for the total horizontal and vertical blanking and check that each field remains below that. That is still sufficient to avoid integer overflows, but it also allows for more flexibility in how userspace fills in these fields. While vb2_mmap took the mmap_lock mutex, vb2_get_unmapped_area didn't.
Add this.
Also take this opportunity to move the 'q->memory != VB2_MEMORY_MMAP'
check and vb2_fileio_is_active() check into __find_plane_by_offset() so
both vb2_mmap and vb2_get_unmapped_area do the same checks.
Since q->memory is checked while mmap_lock is held, also take that lock
in reqbufs and create_bufs when it is set, and set it back to
MEMORY_UNKNOWN on error.

v4l2: don't fall back to follow_pfn() if pin_user_pages_fast() fails
commit 6647e76ab623b2b3fb2efe03a86e9c9046c52c33 upstream.
The V4L2_MEMORY_USERPTR interface is long deprecated and shouldn't be
used (and is discouraged for any modern v4l drivers). And Seth Jenkins
points out that the fallback to VM_PFNMAP/VM_IO is fundamentally racy
and dangerous.
Note that it's not even a case that should trigger, since any normal
user pointer logic ends up just using the pin_user_pages_fast() call
that does the proper page reference counting. That's not the problem
case, only if you try to use special device mappings do you have any
issues.
Normally I'd just remove this during the merge window, but since Seth
pointed out the problem cases, we really want to know as soon as
possible if there are actually any users of this odd special case of a
legacy interface. Neither Hans nor Mauro seem to think that such
mis-uses of the old legacy interface should exist. As Mauro says:
"See, V4L2 has actually 4 streaming APIs:
- Kernel-allocated mmap (usually referred simply as just mmap);
- USERPTR mmap;
- read();
- dmabuf;
The USERPTR is one of the oldest way to use it, coming from V4L
version 1 times, and by far the least used one"
And Hans chimed in on the USERPTR interface:
"To be honest, I wouldn't mind if it goes away completely, but that's a
bit of a pipe dream right now"
but while removing this legacy interface entirely may be a pipe dream we
can at least try to remove the unlikely (and actively broken) case of
using special device mappings for USERPTR accesses.
This replaces it with a WARN_ONCE() that we can remove once we've
hopefully confirmed that no actual users exist.
NOTE! Longer term, this means that a 'struct frame_vector' only ever
contains proper page pointers, and all the games we have with converting
them to pages can go away (grep for 'frame_vector_to_pages()' and the
uses of 'vec->is_pfns'). But this is just the first step, to verify
that this code really is all dead, and do so as quickly as possible.
