extcon: max8997: select IRQ_DOMAIN instead of depending on it

IRQ_DOMAIN is a hidden (not user visible) symbol. Users cannot set
it directly thru "make *config", so drivers should select it instead
of depending on it if they need it.
Relying on it being set for a dependency is risky.
Consistently using "select" or "depends on" can also help reduce
Kconfig circular dependency issues.
Therefore, change EXTCON_MAX8997's use of "depends on" for
IRQ_DOMAIN to "select".

extcon: Modify extcon device to be created after driver data is set

extcon: sm5502: Drop invalid register write in sm5502_reg_data

When sm5502_init_dev_type() iterates over sm5502_reg_data to
initialize the registers it is limited by ARRAY_SIZE(sm5502_reg_data).
There is no need to add another empty element to sm5502_reg_data.
Having the additional empty element in sm5502_reg_data will just
result in writing 0xff to register 0x00, which does not really
make sense.

extcon: arizona: Fix some issues when HPDET IRQ fires after the jack has been unplugged

When the jack is partially inserted and then removed again it may be
removed while the hpdet code is running. In this case the following
may happen:
1. The "JACKDET rise" or ""JACKDET fall" IRQ triggers
2. arizona_jackdet runs and takes info->lock
3. The "HPDET" IRQ triggers
4. arizona_hpdet_irq runs, blocks on info->lock
5. arizona_jackdet calls arizona_stop_mic() and clears info->hpdet_done
6. arizona_jackdet releases info->lock
7. arizona_hpdet_irq now can continue running and:
7.1 Calls arizona_start_mic() (if a mic was detected)
7.2 sets info->hpdet_done
Step 7 is undesirable / a bug:
7.1 causes the device to stay in a high power-state (with MICVDD enabled)
7.2 causes hpdet to not run on the next jack insertion, which in turn
causes the EXTCON_JACK_HEADPHONE state to never get set
This fixes both issues by skipping these 2 steps when arizona_hpdet_irq
runs after the jack has been unplugged.

extcon: adc-jack: Fix an error handling path in 'adc_jack_probe()'
[ Upstream commit bc84cff2c92ae5ccb2c37da73756e7174b1b430f ]
In some error handling paths, a call to 'iio_channel_get()' is not balanced
by a corresponding call to 'iio_channel_release()'.
This can be achieved easily by using the devm_ variant of
'iio_channel_get()'.
This has the extra benefit to simplify the remove function.

extcon: sm5502: Reset registers during initialization
[ Upstream commit 6942635032cfd3e003e980d2dfa4e6323a3ce145 ] On some devices (e.g. Samsung Galaxy A5 (2015)), the bootloader seems to keep interrupts enabled for SM5502 when booting Linux. Changing the cable state (i.e. plugging in a cable) - until the driver is loaded - will therefore produce an interrupt that is never read. In this situation, the cable state will be stuck forever on the initial state because SM5502 stops sending interrupts. This can be avoided by clearing those pending interrupts after the driver has been loaded. One way to do this is to reset all registers to default state by writing to SM5502_REG_RESET. This ensures that we start from a clean state, with all interrupts disabled. extcon: max8997: Fix lack of path setting in USB device mode
[ Upstream commit a2dc50914744eea9f83a70a5db0486be625e5dc0 ] MAX8997 driver disables automatic path selection from MicroUSB connector and manually sets path to either UART or USB lines. However the code for setting USB path worked only for USB host mode (when ID pin is set to ground). When standard USB cable (USB device mode) is connected, path registers are not touched. This means that once the non-USB accessory is connected to MAX8997-operated micro USB port, the path is no longer set to USB and USB device mode doesn't work. This patch fixes it by setting USB path both for USB and USB host modes. extcon: cht-wc: Return from default case to avoid warnings

extcon: arizona: Disable mic detect if running when driver is removed
[ Upstream commit 00053de52231117ddc154042549f2256183ffb86 ] Microphone detection provides the button detection features on the Arizona CODECs as such it will be running if the jack is currently inserted. If the driver is unbound whilst the jack is still inserted this will cause warnings from the regulator framework as the MICVDD regulator is put but was never disabled. Correct this by disabling microphone detection on driver removal and if the microphone detection was running disable the regulator and put the runtime reference that was currently held. extcon: Perform device wakeup initialization upon driver probe
If USB cable is plugged in to usb port after system suspend, system is not resuming. Fix the issue by attaching wakeup source to device object which makes gpio vbus and id irq wakeup capable upon system suspend. extcon: Release locking when sending the notification of connector state
commit 8a9dbb779fe882325b9a0238494a7afaff2eb444 upstream.
Previously, extcon used the spinlock before calling the notifier_call_chain
to prevent the scheduled out of task and to prevent the notification delay.
When spinlock is locked for sending the notification, deadlock issue
occured on the side of extcon consumer device. To fix this issue,
extcon consumer device should always use the work. it is always not
reasonable to use work.
To fix this issue on extcon consumer device, release locking when sending
the notification of connector state.

extcon: usb-gpio: Add support for optional VBUS output enable GPIO
On many platforms 5V VBUS output can be provided by external circuitry and turned on via GPIO. For convenience, on micro-AB ports this can be done in conjunction when ID pin becomes low meaning USB_HOST mode is to be entered. Add support for an optional "vbus-out" GPIO to this driver. extcon: intel-cht-wc: Set direction and drv flags for V5 boost GPIO

Sometimes (firmware bug?) the V5 boost GPIO is not configured as output
by the BIOS, leading to the 5V boost convertor being permanently on,
Explicitly set the direction and drv flags rather then inheriting them
from the firmware to fix this.

extcon: int3496: process id-pin first so that we start with the right status

Some other drivers may be waiting for our extcon to show-up, exiting their
probe methods with -EPROBE_DEFER until we show up.
These drivers will typically get the cable state directly after getting
the extcon, this commit changes the int3496 code to wait for the initial
processing of the id-pin to complete before exiting probe() with 0, which
will cause devices waiting on the defered probe to get reprobed.
This fixes a race where the initial work might still be running while other
drivers were already calling extcon_get_state().

License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license. By default all files without license information are under the default license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2. Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0' SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text. This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and Philippe Ombredanne. How this work was done: Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of the use cases: - file had no licensing information it it. - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it, - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information, Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords. The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files. The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s) to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was: - Files considered eligible had to be source code files. - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5 lines of source - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5 lines). All documentation files were explicitly excluded. The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license identifiers to apply. - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was considered to have no license information in it, and the top level COPYING file license applied. For non */uapi/* files that summary was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 11139 and resulted in the first patch in this series. If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930 and resulted in the second patch in this series. - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in it (per prior point). Results summary: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------ GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270 GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17 LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15 GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14 ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5 LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4 LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1 and that resulted in the third patch in this series. - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became the concluded license(s). - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a license but the other didn't, or they both detected different licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred. - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics). - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier, the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later in time. In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so they are related. Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks in about 15000 files. In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the correct identifier. Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch version early this week with: - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected license ids and scores - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+ files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the different types of files to be modified. These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to generate the patches. extcon: Correct description to improve the readability
The extcon files explains the detailed operation for functions and what is meaning of extcon structure. There are different explanation even if the same argument. So, it modifies the description for both functions and structures in order to improve the readability and guide the role of functions more well. extcon: intel-cht-wc: Ignore failure to detect charger-type on host mode exit
When we leave host-mode because the id-pin is no longer connected to ground, the 5v boost converter is normally still on, so we will see Vbus, but it is not from a charger (normally) so the charger-type detection will fail. This commit silences the cht_wc_extcon_get_charger() false-positive errors when we're leaving host mode.
