[ Upstream commit bd73dfabdda280fc5f05bdec79b6721b4b2f035f ] Illegal memory will be touch if SDMA_SCRIPT_ADDRS_ARRAY_SIZE_V3 (41) exceed the size of structure sdma_script_start_addrs(40), thus cause memory corrupt such as slob block header so that kernel trap into while() loop forever in slob_free(). Please refer to below code piece in imx-sdma.c: for (i = 0; i < sdma->script_number; i++) if (addr_arr[i] > 0) saddr_arr[i] = addr_arr[i]; /* memory corrupt here */ That issue was brought by commit |

always sounded like an item on a wishlist to Santa Claus to me). We
can now select GPIOLIB and be done with it, for all archs. After
some struggle it even work on UM. Not that it has GPIO, but if it
wants to, it can select the library.
- continued efforts to make drivers properly either tristate or bool.
- introduce a warning for drivers assigning default triggers to their
irqchip lines when probed from device tree, so we find and fix
these ambigous drivers. It is agreed that in the OF config path,
the device tree defines trigger characteristics.
- the same warning, mutatis mutandis, for ACPI-probed GPIO irqchips.
- we introduce the ability to mark certain IRQ lines as "unusable" as
they can be taken by BIOS/firmware, unrouted in silicon and

The plan is to add unit tests under tools/* for exercising this
device and verify that the kernel code paths are working as they

- make memory-mapped I/O-drivers depend on HAS_IOMEM. This was
implicit all the time, but when people started building UM with
allyesconfig or allmodconfig it exploded in their face.
- move some stray bits of device tree and ACPI HW description
callbacks down into their respective implementation silo. These
were causing issues when compiling on !HAS_IOMEM as well, so now
eventually UM compiles the GPIOLIB library if it wants to.
New drivers:
- new driver for the Aspeed GPIO front-end companion to the pin
controller merged through the pin control tree.
- new driver for the LP873x PMIC GPIO portions.
- new driver for Technologic Systems' I2C FPGA GPIO such as TS4900,
TS-7970, TS-7990 and TS-4100.
- new driver for the Broadcom BCM63xx series including BCM6338 and
BCM6345.
- new driver for the Intel WhiskeyCove PMIC GPIO.
- new driver for the Allwinner AXP209 PMIC GPIO portions.
- new driver for Diamond Systems 48 line GPIO-MM, another of these
port-mapped I/O expansion cards.
- support the STMicroelectronics STMPE1600 variant in the STMPE
driver.
Driver improvements:
- the STMPE driver now supports rising/falling edge detection
properly for IRQs.
- the PCA954x will now fetch and enable its VCC regulator properly.
- major rework of the PCA953x driver with the goal of eventually
switching it over to use regmap and thus modernize it even more.
- switch the IOP driver to use the generic MMIO GPIO library.
- move the ages old HTC EGPIO (extended GPIO) GPIO expander driver
over to this subsystem from MFD, achieveing some separation of

dmaengine: s3c24xx: Add dma_slave_map for s3c2440 devices
This patch updates the s3c24xx dma driver to be able to pass a dma_slave_map array via the platform data. This is needed to be able to use the new, simpler dmaengine API [1]. I used the virtual DMA channels as a parameter for the dma_filter function. By doing that, I could reuse the existing filter function in drivers/dma/s3c24xx-dma.c. I have tested this on my mini2440 board with the audio driver. According to my observations, dma_request_slave_channel in the function dmaengine_pcm_new in the file sound/soc/soc-generic-dmaengine-pcm.c now returns a valid DMA channel whereas before no DMA channel was returned at that point. Entries for DMACH_XD0, DMACH_XD1 and DMACH_TIMER are missing because I don't realy know which driver to use for these. [media] media: platform: pxa_camera: make a standalone v4l2 device
This patch removes the soc_camera API dependency from pxa_camera. In the current status : - all previously captures are working the same on pxa270 - the s_crop() call was removed, judged not working (see what happens soc_camera_s_crop() when get_crop() == NULL) - if the pixel clock is provided by then sensor, ie. not MCLK, the dual stage change is not handled yet. => there is no in-tree user of this, so I'll let it that way - the MCLK is not yet finished, it's as in the legacy way, ie. activated at video device opening and closed at video device closing. In a subsequence patch pxa_camera_mclk_ops should be used, and platform data MCLK ignored. It will be the sensor's duty to request the clock and enable it, which will end in pxa_camera_mclk_ops. dmaengine: dw: set polarity of handshake interface
Intel Quark UART uses DesignWare DMA IP. Though the DMA IP is connected in such way that handshake interface uses inverted polarity. We have to provide a possibility to set this in the DMA driver when configuring a channel. Introduce a new member of custom slave configuration called 'hs_polarity' and set active low polarity in case this value is 'true'. - A fix for locking issues when external drivers explicitly locked
the bus with spi_bus_lock() - we were using the same lock to both
control access to the physical bus in multi-threaded I/O operations
and exclude multiple callers.
Confusion between these two caused us to have scenarios where we
were dropping locks. These are fixed by splitting into two
separate locks like should have been done originally, making
everything much clearer and correct.
- Support for DMA in spi_flash_read().
- Support for instantiating spidev on ACPI systems, including some
test devices used in Windows validation.
- Use of the core DMA mapping functionality in the McSPI driver.
- Start of support for ThunderX SPI controllers, involving a very big

eeprom: at24: add support for at24mac series
Add a new read function to the at24 driver allowing to retrieve the factory-programmed mac address embedded in chips from the at24mac family. These chips can be instantiated similarily to the at24cs family, except that there's no way of having access to both the serial number and the mac address at the same time - the user must instantiate either an at24cs or at24mac device as both special memory areas are accessible on the same slave address. eeprom: at24: support reading the serial number for 24csxx
The chips from the at24cs family have two memory areas - a regular read-write block and a read-only area containing the serial number. The latter is visible on a different slave address (the address of the rw memory block + 0x08). In order to access both blocks the user needs to instantiate a regular at24c device for the rw block address and a corresponding at24cs device on the serial number block address. Add a function that allows to access the serial number and assign it to at24->read_func if the chip allows serial number read operations and the driver was passed the relevant flag for this device. ARM: ux500: use CLK_OF_DECLARE()
The ux500 DT support predates the CLK_OF_DECLARE macro and calls directly into the clk driver from platform code. Converting this to CLK_OF_DECLARE makes the code much nicer and similar to how modern platforms do it today.
