ISOC transfers expect a certain cadence of requests being queued. Not
keeping up with the expected rate of requests results in missed ISOC
transfers (EXDEV). The application layer may or may not produce video
frames to match this expectation, so uvc gadget driver must handle cases
where the application is not queuing up buffers fast enough to fulfill
ISOC requirements.
Currently, uvc gadget driver waits for new video buffer to become available
before queuing up usb requests. With this patch the gadget driver queues up
0 length usb requests whenever there are no video buffers available. The
USB controller's complete callback is used as the limiter for how quickly
the 0 length packets will be queued. Video buffers are still queued as
soon as they become available.

When the dwc3 device is runtime suspended, various required clocks are in
disabled state and it is not guaranteed that access to any registers would
work. Depending on the SoC glue, a register read could be as benign as
returning 0 or be fatal enough to hang the system.
In order to prevent such scenarios of fatal errors, make sure to resume
dwc3 then allow the function to proceed.

It was observed that there are hosts that may complete pending SETUP
transactions before the stop active transfers and controller halt occurs,
leading to lingering endxfer commands on DEPs on subsequent pullup/gadget
start iterations.
dwc3_gadget_ep_disable name=ep8in flags=0x3009 direction=1
dwc3_gadget_ep_disable name=ep4in flags=1 direction=1
dwc3_gadget_ep_disable name=ep3out flags=1 direction=0
usb_gadget_disconnect deactivated=0 connected=0 ret=0
The sequence shows that the USB gadget disconnect (dwc3_gadget_pullup(0))
routine completed successfully, allowing for the USB gadget to proceed with
a USB gadget connect. However, if this occurs the system runs into an
issue where:
BUG: spinlock already unlocked on CPU
spin_bug+0x0
dwc3_remove_requests+0x278
dwc3_ep0_out_start+0xb0
__dwc3_gadget_start+0x25c
This is due to the pending endxfers, leading to gadget start (w/o lock
held) to execute the remove requests, which will unlock the dwc3
spinlock as part of giveback.
To mitigate this, resolve the pending endxfers on the pullup disable
path by re-locating the SETUP phase check after stop active transfers, since
that is where the DWC3_EP_DELAY_STOP is potentially set. This also allows
for handling of a host that may be unresponsive by using the completion
timeout to trigger the stall and restart for EP0.

In one of the SMMU faults (NULL Pointer derefernce) the following
race condition was observed and func->interfaces_nums was being
accessed for f_fs interface after it was unbinded resulting in a
crash.

The events happened in order are as follows:
We got a setup packet for ffs interface and was passed to android
setup callback from ep0.c. As part of the delegate request, the
dwc->lock is released.
At this instant a composition switch occurred and as per traces
and crash dumps:
1. UDC Stop was done successfully. So run stop is set to '0'
2. Composite disconnect was done and ep disable for all ep's is done
gadget->connected = FALSE
3. Async callbacks disabled
dwc->aysnc_callbacks = FALSE
4. composite unbind is going on and the ffs interface in question is
unbinded
udc->driver != NULL
(as per crash dump indicating that unbind is in progress)
5. Purge configs was ongoing because as per crash dumps:
otg_desc[0] = NULL;
cdev->os_desc_req->buf is not NULL
(configfs_composite_unbind is going on, but composite_dev_cleanup
not yet done)
As per the traces:
23.794712: dwc3_event event=49216 ep0state=1 str=
23.794909: dwc3_ctrl_req bRequestType=161 bRequest=1 wValue=0
wIndex=2 wLength=4096
23.799740: usb_gadget_disconnect speed=5 max_speed=6 state=7
mA=0 deactivated=0 connected=0 ret=0
This indicated that android setup came first followed by composite
disconnect. Since the dwc->lock was released by delegate_request,
soft disconnect gets unblocked and runs parallel to composite setup.
After this, there is no check in path of composite setup
indicating unbind happened and bail out is necessary instead of
executing any function ops.
Protect composite_setup (as part of android_setup) in a spinlock
to block composite_disconnect/unbind running in parallel.
Moreover, in the configfs counterpart of android_setup (configfs_
composite_stetup), the composite_setup call is done with spinlock
held.
It is only the android_setup missing this lock.

Previously, there was a 100uS delay inserted after issuing an end transfer
command for specific controller revisions. This was due to the fact that
there was a GUCTL2 bit field which enabled synchronous completion of the
end transfer command once the CMDACT bit was cleared in the DEPCMD
register. Since this bit does not exist for all controller revisions and
the current implementation heavily relies on utizling the EndTransfer
command completion interrupt, add the delay back in for uses where the
interrupt on completion bit is not set, and increase the duration to 1ms
for the controller to complete the command.
An issue was seen where the USB request buffer was unmapped while the DWC3
controller was still accessing the TRB. However, it was confirmed that the
end transfer command was successfully submitted. (no end transfer timeout)
In situations, such as dwc3_gadget_soft_disconnect() and
__dwc3_gadget_ep_disable(), the dwc3_remove_request() is utilized, which
will issue the end transfer command, and follow up with
dwc3_gadget_giveback(). At least for the USB ep disable path, it is
required for any pending and started requests to be completed and returned
to the function driver in the same context of the disable call. Without
the GUCTL2 bit, it is not ensured that the end transfer is completed before
the buffers are unmapped.

If we delay sending End Transfer for Setup TRB to be prepared, we need
to check if the End Transfer was in preparation for a driver
teardown/soft-disconnect. In those cases, just send the End Transfer
command without delay.
In the case of soft-disconnect, there's a very small chance the command
may not go through immediately. But should it happen, the Setup TRB will
be prepared during the polling of the controller halted state, allowing
the command to go through then.
In the case of disabling endpoint due to reconfiguration (e.g.
set_interface(alt-setting) or usb reset), then it's driven by the host.
Typically the host wouldn't immediately cancel the control request and
send another control transfer to trigger the End Transfer command
timeout.

Currently we process the suspend interrupt event only if the
device is in configured state. Consider a case where device
is not configured and got suspend interrupt, in that case our
gadget will still use 100mA as composite_suspend didn't happen.
But battery charging specification (BC1.2) expects a downstream
device to draw less than 2.5mA when unconnected OR suspended.
Fix this by removing the condition for processing suspend event,
and thus composite_resume would set vbus draw to 2.

commit 54e5c00a4eb0a4c663445b245f641bbfab142430 upstream.
While checking Pin Assignments of the port and partner during probe, we
don't take into account whether the peripheral is a plug or receptacle.
This manifests itself in a mode entry failure on certain docks and
dongles with captive cables. For instance, the Startech.com Type-C to DP
dongle (Model #CDP2DP) advertises its DP VDO as 0x405. This would fail
the Pin Assignment compatibility check, despite it supporting
Pin Assignment C as a UFP.
Update the check to use the correct DP Pin Assign macros that
take the peripheral's receptacle bit into account.

commit 2fa89458af9993fab8054daf827f38881e2ad473 upstream.
Currently connect/disconnect of USB cable calls afunc_bind and
eventually increments the bNumEndpoints. Performing multiple
plugin/plugout will increment bNumEndpoints incorrectly, and on
the next plug-in it leads to invalid configuration of descriptor
and hence enumeration fails.
Fix this by resetting the value of bNumEndpoints to 1 on every
afunc_bind call.

__ffs_ep0_queue_wait executes holding the spinlock of &ffs->ev.waitq.lock
and unlocks it after the assignments to usb_request are done.
However in the code if the request is already NULL we bail out returning
-EINVAL but never unlocked the spinlock.
Fix this by adding spin_unlock_irq &ffs->ev.waitq.lock before returning.

During enumeration or composition switch,a userspace process
agnostic of the conventions of configs can try to create function
symlinks even after the UDC is bound to current config which is
not correct. Potentially it can create duplicates within the
current config.
Prevent this by adding a check if udc_name already exists, then bail
out of cfg_link.
Following is an example:
Step1:
ln -s X1 ffs.a
-->cfg_link
--> usb_get_function(ffs.a)
->ffs_alloc
CFG->FUNC_LIST: <ffs.a>
C->FUNCTION: <empty>
Step2:
echo udc.name > /config/usb_gadget/g1/UDC
--> UDC_store
->composite_bind
->usb_add_function
CFG->FUNC_LIST: <empty>
C->FUNCTION: <ffs.a>
Step3:
ln -s Y1 ffs.a
-->cfg_link
-->usb_get_function(ffs.a)
->ffs_alloc
CFG->FUNC_LIST: <ffs.a>
C->FUNCTION: <ffs.a>
both the lists corresponds to the same function instance ffs.a
but the usb_function* pointer is different because in step 3
ffs_alloc has created a new reference to usb_function* for
ffs.a and added it to cfg_list.
Step4:
Now a composition switch involving <ffs.b,ffs.a> is executed.
the composition switch will involve 3 things:
1. unlinking the previous functions existing
2. creating new symlinks
3. writing UDC
However, the composition switch is generally taken care by
userspace process which creates the symlinks in its own
nomenclature(X*) and removes only those.
So it won't be able to remove Y1 which user had created
by own.
Due to this the new symlinks cannot be created for ffs.a
since the entry already exists in CFG->FUNC_LIST.
The state of the CFG->FUNC_LIST is as follows:
CFG->FUNC_LIST: <ffs.a>

As per the documentation, function usb_ep_free_request guarantees
the request will not be queued or no longer be re-queued (or
otherwise used). However, with the current implementation it
doesn't make sure that the request in ep0 isn't reused.
Fix this by dequeuing the ep0req on functionfs_unbind before
freeing the request to align with the definition.

[ Upstream commit 6a19da111057f69214b97c62fb0ac59023970850 ]
While performing fast composition switch, there is a possibility that the
process of ffs_ep0_write/ffs_ep0_read get into a race condition
due to ep0req being freed up from functionfs_unbind.
Consider the scenario that the ffs_ep0_write calls the ffs_ep0_queue_wait
by taking a lock &ffs->ev.waitq.lock. However, the functionfs_unbind isn't
bounded so it can go ahead and mark the ep0req to NULL, and since there
is no NULL check in ffs_ep0_queue_wait we will end up in use-after-free.
Fix this by making a serialized execution between the two functions using
a mutex_lock(ffs->mutex).

This reverts commit 4d640eb112 which is
commit a1575120972ecd7baa6af6a69e4e7ea9213bde7c upstream.
It breaks the current Android ABI. If this is needed on any systems, it
can be brought back in the future in an ABI-safe way.

In the specification documents for the Uncompressed and MJPEG USB
Video Payloads, the field name is bmInterlaceFlags - it has been
misnamed within the kernel.
Although renaming the field does break the kernel's interface to
userspace it should be low-risk in this instance. The field is read
only and hardcoded to 0, so there was never any value in anyone
reading it. A search of the uvc-gadget application and all the
forks that I could find for it did not reveal any users either.

When communicating with accessory devices via USBFS, the initialisation
call-stack looks like:
ConfigFS > Gadget ConfigFS > UDC > Gadget ConfigFS > Composite
Eventually ending up in composite_dev_prepare() where memory for the
data buffer is allocated and initialised. The default size used for the
allocation is USB_COMP_EP0_BUFSIZ (4k). When handling bulk transfers,
acc_ctrlrequest() needs to be able to handle buffers up to
BULK_BUFFER_SIZE (16k). Instead of adding new generic attributes to
'struct usb_request' to track the size of the allocated buffer, we can
simply split off the affected thread of execution to travel via a
knowledgeable abstracted function acc_ctrlrequest_composite() where we
can complete the necessary specific checks.

[ Upstream commit 89ff3dfac604614287ad5aad9370c3f984ea3f4b ]
The embedded struct cdev does not have its lifetime correctly tied to
the enclosing struct f_hidg, so there is a use-after-free if /dev/hidgN
is held open while the gadget is deleted.
This can readily be replicated with libusbgx's example programs (for
conciseness - operating directly via configfs is equivalent):
gadget-hid
exec 3<> /dev/hidg0
gadget-vid-pid-remove
exec 3<&-
Pull the existing device up in to struct f_hidg and make use of the
cdev_device_{add,del}() helpers. This changes the lifetime of the
device object to match struct f_hidg, but note that it is still added
and deleted at the same time.

__ffs_ep0_queue_wait executes holding the spinlock of &ffs->ev.waitq.lock
and unlocks it after the assignments to usb_request are done.
However in the code if the request is already NULL we bail out returning
-EINVAL but never unlocked the spinlock.
Fix this by adding spin_unlock_irq &ffs->ev.waitq.lock before returning.

commit dbd24ec17b85b45f4e823d1aa5607721920f2b05 upstream.
The commit e00b488e813f ("usb-storage: Add Hiksemi USB3-FW to IGNORE_UAS")
blacklists UAS for all of RTL9210 enclosures.
The RTL9210 controller was advertised with UAS since its release back in
2019 and was shipped with a lot of enclosure products with different
firmware combinations.
Blacklist UAS only for HIKSEMI MD202.
This should hopefully be replaced with more robust method than just
comparing strings. But with limited information [1] provided thus far
(dmesg when the device is plugged in, which includes manufacturer and
product, but no lsusb -v to compare against), this is the best we can do
for now.

commit c6ec929595c7443250b2a4faea988c62019d5cd2 upstream.
In Google internal bug 265639009 we've received an (as yet) unreproducible
crash report from an aarch64 GKI 5.10.149-android13 running device.
AFAICT the source code is at:
https://android.googlesource.com/kernel/common/+/refs/tags/ASB-2022-12-05_13-5.10
The call stack is:
ncm_close() -> ncm_notify() -> ncm_do_notify()
with the crash at:
ncm_do_notify+0x98/0x270
Code: 79000d0b b9000a6c f940012a f9400269 (b9405d4b)
Which I believe disassembles to (I don't know ARM assembly, but it looks sane enough to me...):
// halfword (16-bit) store presumably to event->wLength (at offset 6 of struct usb_cdc_notification)
0B 0D 00 79 strh w11, [x8, #6]
// word (32-bit) store presumably to req->Length (at offset 8 of struct usb_request)
6C 0A 00 B9 str w12, [x19, #8]
// x10 (NULL) was read here from offset 0 of valid pointer x9
// IMHO we're reading 'cdev->gadget' and getting NULL
// gadget is indeed at offset 0 of struct usb_composite_dev
2A 01 40 F9 ldr x10, [x9]
// loading req->buf pointer, which is at offset 0 of struct usb_request
69 02 40 F9 ldr x9, [x19]
// x10 is null, crash, appears to be attempt to read cdev->gadget->max_speed
4B 5D 40 B9 ldr w11, [x10, #0x5c]
which seems to line up with ncm_do_notify() case NCM_NOTIFY_SPEED code fragment:
event->wLength = cpu_to_le16(8);
req->length = NCM_STATUS_BYTECOUNT;
/* SPEED_CHANGE data is up/down speeds in bits/sec */
data = req->buf + sizeof *event;
data[0] = cpu_to_le32(ncm_bitrate(cdev->gadget));
My analysis of registers and NULL ptr deref crash offset
(Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 000000000000005c)
heavily suggests that the crash is due to 'cdev->gadget' being NULL when executing:
data[0] = cpu_to_le32(ncm_bitrate(cdev->gadget));
which calls:
ncm_bitrate(NULL)
which then calls:
gadget_is_superspeed(NULL)
which reads
((struct usb_gadget *)NULL)->max_speed
and hits a panic.
AFAICT, if I'm counting right, the offset of max_speed is indeed 0x5C.
(remember there's a GKI KABI reservation of 16 bytes in struct work_struct)
It's not at all clear to me how this is all supposed to work...
but returning 0 seems much better than panic-ing...

commit e95765e97d9cb93258a4840440d410fa6ff7e819 upstream.
Currently the color matching descriptor is only sent across the wire
a single time, following the descriptors for each format and frame.
According to the UVC 1.5 Specification 3.9.2.6 ("Color Matching
Descriptors"):
"Only one instance is allowed for a given format and if present,
the Color Matching descriptor shall be placed following the Video
and Still Image Frame descriptors for that format".
Add another reference to the color matching descriptor after the
yuyv frames so that it's correctly transmitted for that format
too.

commit 9682b41e52cc9f42f5c33caf410464392adaef04 upstream.
Commit c1e5c2f0cb8a ("usb: typec: altmodes/displayport: correct pin
assignment for UFP receptacles") fixed the pin assignment calculation
to take into account whether the peripheral was a plug or a receptacle.
But the "pin_assignments" sysfs logic was not updated. Address this by
using the macros introduced in the aforementioned commit in the sysfs
logic too.

commit 36f78477ac2c89e9a2eed4a31404a291a3450b5d upstream.
There's the altmode re-registeration issue after data role
swap (DR_SWAP).
Comparing to USBPD 2.0, in USBPD 3.0, it loose the limit that only DFP
can initiate the VDM command to get partner identity information.
For a USBPD 3.0 UFP device, it may already get the identity information
from its port partner before DR_SWAP. If DR_SWAP send or receive at the
mean time, 'send_discover' flag will be raised again. It causes discover
identify action restart while entering ready state. And after all
discover actions are done, the 'tcpm_register_altmodes' will be called.
If old altmode is not unregistered, this sysfs create fail can be found.
In 'DR_SWAP_CHANGE_DR' state case, only DFP will unregister altmodes.
For UFP, the original altmodes keep registered.
This patch fix the logic that after DR_SWAP, 'tcpm_unregister_altmodes'
must be called whatever the current data role is.
